Chapter Text
Human AU, RomaCan
As far as her knew, today was not his day.
As Matthew Finally leaves the meeting hall, everything that day had gotten little to nothing done in there. He enjoyed working with a huge company and loved all of his colleagues. But every now and then, a little petty remark from someone would end up turning into a huge fight that usually ends up with someone in a hospital. Nonetheless, he wanted to be home and finally relax. Though enjoying the company of his colleagues, he sometimes doesn't get noticed when a meeting occurs. Leaving the building finally, he notices the sky beginning to darken. He hadn't expected it to rain so he didn't think about bring an umbrella. His house was also a little walk away so he never bothered driving. His phone died during the meeting and there was no bus nearby. So, he did what anyone else would do
Oh maple, he thought as he started running to escape the rain. It downpour almost immediately as he got halfway to his place. The rain Had kept pouring as he got closer. He had nothing but a leather bag to cover his head, but even that couldn't really help much. At some point, he would slip and almost fall onto the road. He could barely see half a meter ahead of him.
As he finally entered the neighborhood, the rain started to clear up a bit. Matthew had slowed down and got to his house. It was nothing to fancy; a light grey, two-story house and with two black cars parked in-front. He walked to the front door, reached into his pocket to get the keys. As soon as he did though, the door suddenly flung opened. A short, tan, reddish brown haired woman with a strange curl, leaps right at him almost knocking him down. She looks up, dark green irises stare directly at violet up at him. She started to pout.
"Why didn't you think about checking the weather today, eh?!" she exclaimed loudly. She proceeded to drag him in the house, stopping by a small closet near the stairs. After a minute or two, she pulls out a fluffy towel and starts wrapping it around him.
"Go sit down, I'll get a bath ready." Matthew watches her leave the room and head upstairs. He walks over to the living room and sit on the light gray armchair. He looks around the light grey walls, littered with photos of his brother and the woman.
A few minutes later, the woman comes back. "Come on, we can't get you sick now can we?" She takes his hand and escorts him to his bedroom, then the bathroom. The marble design on the sink and floor reflect onto the white bathtub.
"Your clothes are on the bed, I'll make some hot chocolate." She closed the door as she walked out. Matthew sighs and he takes off his clothes and slowly climbs into the tub.
He carefully steps out of the tub and wraps another fluffy towel around his waist. He walks out of the bathroom and sees a cozy sweater with sweatpants neatly folded onto of his bed. He changes into the outfit and steps out of the room. His hair was a bit wet, but it didn't really bother him that much. He walks down stairs to see a small black coffee table with a mug filled with the dark chocolate liquids. He walks over and sits down on the black leather couch, then reaching for the mug.
The woman then enters the room with a big soft blanket and wraps if around him.
"Your doing so much for me, why is that Lovina?" Matthew ask quietly
"I saw that you looked mad, and with the rain I had to do something..." she looked away, rather flustered
Matthew looked over at Lovina and smiled.
"You really do care don't you?"
"AYE, I just didn't want to see you mad...maple bastard."
Matthew let out a chuckle and leaped back into the couch. Lovina sat down next to him. As soon as she did, he wrapped his free arm around her. She looked away flustered, yet melting into his touch. He laid his head on her should, hear the rain start pouring down again. This time though, he was with someone that made him happy everyday.
He laid his hand on top of hers, making sure to see the golden band wrapped around her finger
