Madeline held her head in her hands, sobbing. It felt like hours before a soft hand ran their fingers through her hair. “It’s okay, you’re safe now.” Felicia. Madeline looked up, snot running down her nose, tears staining her cheeks. She felt so pathetic next to her. Felicia, the strongest woman she knew, even stronger than her mama.
Felicia knelt in front of her, wiping away at her tears with a gentle thumb. She softly kissed Madeline’s cheek, and helped her stand up.

The Demigods of Camp Half-Blood had received an invitation to another camp for a festival only a few days after the battle of Manhattan and they were just trying to still get back into their original routine before the battle had come to light. the letter was written on an old parchment like paper like those you'd see in old movies when there's a letter opening scene from a loved one or something the letter was written in a beautiful shimmering ink that changed from a black to a soft gray with a gentle shimmer to it in the sun and was written in gorgeous cursive.
