Summary
One hundred years ago the earth broke. Well, that might be dramatic, the leylines that within flowed all magic in the world ruptured and spilled into the actual mortal world, which caused a mass awakening in magic abilities in millions of people. Some had elemental magic, some had powers over flora and fauna, and some had control over the very fabric of reality. As a reaction the global government at work created an organization to try and stem the tide of magic users before they completely lost control, called Jewel. Magia, as they are officially called, or Fractures if one wanted to be rude, are all brought in to be Chipped. The Chip is a control collar of sorts, and many Magia actually want one, even if it comes with a ten year service requirement once they learn how to use their powers. Some, however, see it as nothing more than slavery, a fear reaction to something non-Magia don't understand.
Bang Chan's team work to bring in errant Magia, help them get settled into Jewel and into their new chipped lives. A new group of extremists has cropped up, and their team is pulled to put a stop to them before they threaten the city of St. Autem. Who are Omnis Fatum? Chan has a feeling they'll soon find out.
