Summary
Simon Snow is well practised in hunting monsters. He knows how to spy, how to sneak, and—most importantly—how to not get caught.
But this time, it all goes wrong. The roles are reversed, and the villain becomes the victim.You know what they say: you either die the hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the monster.
‘If you go anywhere near Agatha, I’ll make sure you regret it,’ I growled at him while wrangling my tie into submission.
Baz didn't bother to so much as glance in my direction, too focused on smoothing out every invisible crease on his perfect uniform. ‘I believe it’s clear Wellbelove is capable of making her own decisions, Snow.’
‘Y-yeah, she is! And they don’t involve you!’
‘And if they do?’
‘They don’t,’ I snarled. ‘And they never will, because no matter how fit and rich you are, you’re still a fucking monster who no one wants to be around!’
He slammed his wardrobe shut then and gathered his books. ‘Says the one who’s constantly stalking me,’ he spat.
‘It’s not stalking—it’s hunting!’
I kept on yelling at his back—stuff about slaying dark creatures like him. Baz simply left the room, still refusing to look at me.
