"Revolution" Parody of "Hamilton" (Complete Collection - Now with Annotations!)

Summary:

By Aux.

The entire musical, "Hamilton" (by Lin-Manuel Miranda) parodied for The Brave New World Project. I swear, I had only listened to the Hamilton soundtrack before I wrote this, I only watched the musical once, right after I started the rewrite.

This is not a seperate installment in The Brave New World Project! This is a collection of other installments for the convenience of the readers. If you're interested in joining us, head to the discord. The Brave New World Project

Notes:

This AU is just in its starting fazes, and since it's a collaberative project, I'm going to need some help. I'm currently the only writer, script writer, voice actor, and singer on the project, and I need help! If you are interested visit the Discord server here: The Brave New World Project.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: "Revolution" Parody of "Alexander Hamilton" from "Hamilton"

Notes:

This is a parody of the song "Alexander Hamilton" from "Hamilton" by Lin Manuel Miranda. This is an introduction to a lot of the main characters, but is still subject to editing as the narrative evolves.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

~Written by Aux.

~ So fun fact... when I started the rewrite I originally just rewrote "My Shot." Then I did Yorktown, and then I was gonna do Who Lives, Who Dies... and then I watched the musical (I had only listened to the soundtrack until that point). After a lot of deliberation, I decided to parody the entire musical Hamilton, by Lin Manuel Miranda. I also hope to do all of the cut and altered off Broadway tracks and the Mixtape. If you'd like to help me out, please head to the discord server, linked here: <a href="https://discord.gg/KmAmZc57mB" rel="nofollow">The Brave New World Project</a>.<br />

~I plan to put together a full disc one version once I finish publishing the disc one parodies... so stay tuned!

~Stay tuned for the annotated version! If anyone knows how to link between portions of the same document, please hit me up! I need help with that for the annotations!

[General Cordova]1

How do the bastard, orphan, sons of abhor and the

problem, stopped in the middle of a forgotten spot in a new galaxy by providence in honor us

and squalor grow up to be our heroes and our scholars.

The end all our mothers and fathers without a dollar2

Got a lot farther by goin’ a lot harder

By being a lot smarter

By bein’ the war starters

At the scene, they took charge and kept on marchin’ farther.

And every day while they were slaved and carted

away across the stars, they struggled and kept their guard up. 3

Aside they were gropin’ for somethin’ to be a part of

Brotha’s were ready to steal, kill, bribe and charter.

Then the separatists came and blaster fire rained

Those kids saw their future drip drippin down the drain

Picked ‘emselves up and brushed off all the muck

And they went and raised some cane, inflictin’ others pain.

Well the word got around, Seps said ‘these kids are insane man’

Tried to wipes ‘em out and decimate the promise land

They cried out ‘Never, get back from whence you came’

Well the whole world knows our names, what’s our game men?

[Chorus]

We are the Revolution.4

Yeah we are the Revolution

There are a million things we haven’t done

Well just you wait. Just you wait.

[General Cordova]

When they were then, snatched up even younger dis-appear-in

Twenty-Thirty5, servin’ in the army for the droids.

And Everybody else, man you gotta understand

[All ages 11-19, 31-65]6

Hangin’ by a thread half limbo half dead.

[General Cordova (Chorus)]

Tryin’ resist the droids, the droids commit mass genocide,7

Left ‘em, with no options but run ‘n hide, but somethin’ new inside

A voice whispers “Go on, for all you’ve left behind”

They stopped retreatin’ ‘n repeatin’ got ahead out of a bind

There wasn’ much they couldn’t do.

And someone less astute maya been dead ‘n destitute

Not a cent of restitution but

They were working, gunning n’ running and breakin’ it ashore

Fightin’ droids n’ takin’ guns avoidin’ losses they couldn’ ‘fford.8

Slammin’ for e’ry advantage they got their hands on

Plannin’ for a future see ‘em now as they stand on the

(oohh…)

The front of the stage hear ‘em now as they say

In war anyone can take a stand!

[Chorus (General Cordova)

In war anyone can (just you wait) take a stand9

In way anyone can (just you wait) take a stand

In war anyone can take a stand

[15 and up] In War man!

[14 and down] In war!

[General Cordova] Just you wait!

[Chorus]

We are the revolution (Are the revolution) 10

We’ve been waiting in the field for you (waiting in the field for you)

We will never back down

And we’re done bidin’ our time!

Oh, we are the revolution (Are the revolution)

May the world concede and say it’s true.

Will they know what we overcame?

Will they know we rewrote the game?

This world will never be the same, oh…

[Main Cast]

We fought for this.

[Louis, Fei, Devon]

Me? I died for this.

[Jerome, Grace, Cordova, Nikolav]

Me? I fostered this.

[Destiny, Montagrie]11

Me? I lived for this.

[Mason, Sage, R.C.]12

And me? I’m the damn victim of this conflict.

[Chorus]

There’s a million things we haven’t done.

But just you wait!

[General Cordova]

What’s our game men?

[All (emphasis main cast)]

We are the Revolution!

~Hey guys! It's Aux. All the annotations for this song are done! Stay tuned for the next song, annotations coming soon!

Notes:

Cordova sings nearly the entire song. He is wearing his Spanish Separatist Occupation Uniform, while the rest of the company wears the PLAE uniform: all black, minus shoes

As I began this parody project, I realized more and more just how similar the conflicts in Hamilton and The Brave New World Project were. I didn't even plan it, I've only watched Hamiton through once, I prefer the soundtrack, tbh.

Cordova was a spectator, as were this monologues original speakers/singers in Hamilton. The rest of the main cast is far to involved in the canon events at this point to really portray this monologue effectively as a speaker/singer.

The amount of things that don't work to replace Alexander Hamilton (passive aggressive heavy breathing).

This age group were conscripted into a sort of slave army by the CIS.

These ages were in a sort of limbo. 11-19 were usually marked for slavery or conscription, but could be forced into either with no notice. 31-65 weren't actively conscripted into the army, but they were in danger of being euthanized due to medical conditions, enslaved, or conscripted.

All over age 65 were killed. All with chronic illness with less than a fifty percent chance of survival were euthanized. Examples include: certain cancers, certain phycological disorders, certain heart conditions, etc.

Canonically, any loss would have been bad, even devastating. So they couldn't really afford any losses until they got organized... so stay tuned for that!

Originally, I changed the just you wait echo to match the take a stand, but I kept it because both themes ring true.

This is the chorus, the fighters, the common people, inviting you, the audience, the reader, to join them. To walk a mile in their shoes.

Both are very active in the revolution, and both actively seek out the Zygerrians due to their cruelty and slavery. They end up devoting their entire lives to the revolution and the rebuilding after the fact simply because they have no one.

All three of these individuals are force sensitive, so know this: the line correlates with Order Sixty Six.
