Amity Blight learning about the human world and losing her mind.

Summary:

Shortly after Luz and Amity had turned 18, they had decided that, in the interest of their relationship, Amity would move in with Luz in the human world. She would have a lot to learn.

Chapter 1: Constructed in a peculiar fashion

Chapter Text

“Babe,” Amity called out. She looked down at the brand new phone Luz had gotten for her, bewildered. The poor witch was still getting used to the human world, and there was just way too much to get used to. Thankfully she had Luz, which helped whenever she came across anything particularly confusing.

“What’s up, Am?” Luz asked, hopping over the back of the couch to sit herself down by her girlfriend.

Amity’s confusion grew as she ran her thumb across the screen, “What does it mean to be..’built different’?”

Luz suppressed a giggle. While she understood the human world was a bit confusing, and she loved Amity to death, it would be a lie to say she didn't find her confusion a little entertaining. Hell, she had to get used to the boiling isles after all.

“Huh, wow, uhh..” Luz said after a moment, starting to think about how the hell to explain that phrase, “It’s...It means you’re...You’re unique? You’re better .”

“Like, in what way?”

Luz tapped her lips, “Oh! That game I showed you yesterday, if I won I would say ‘I’m built different.’”

Amity looked more confused for a moment, but eventually her brain pieced it together, and she grinned.

“I think I get it,” she said, “Because you certainly are built different.”

Luz giggled, standing up to head back to whatever it was she was up to before, “How’s that?”

“Well you’re better than anyone I know at stealing my heart!” Amity chimed, leaning up to kiss Luz’s hand.

Luz laughed, and leaned down to kiss her girlfriend properly, “You’re a dork.”
