Allowing himself to fall to his bed Roman lets out a groan his day had been long, fun but long. He hadn’t even been able to talk to Jan all day today, as he didn’t show at school today which had worried him and has been at work since four. After losing Mario kart to Remus for the fifteenth time he had finally decided to head up to bed. With a glance at the clock he winces at the time showing back at him. He had meant to be in bed by now but he wanted to stay up to try and catch Jan before he headed to bed. He hears Remus’s door shut from down the hall a smile on his face as he took his phone out dialing Jan’s number pressing the face time button, he just wanted to see his boyfriends beautiful face.
After a couple rings Jan’s face comes into view. “Jan! There’s my beautiful boyfriend” a smile crosses Romans face as Jan’s face brightens with a soft blush before his boyfriend smiles “Hello Pretty boy, I’m surprised to hear from you this late at night, what’s my pretty boy doing up?” A pout comes across Romans face “Well, I didn’t see you today, you weren’t at school and you said yesterday that you had work today so I didn’t want to bother you while you were at work.” A smile comes across Jan’s face before falling, Roman feels a surge of protectiveness flow through him and he wondered if he’d have to tell Remus someone was bugging Janus again. It was a new deal they had come up with as a way to protect Jan just a bit without his knowledge.
“I wasn’t in the mood to deal with the teasing today doll, so I skipped I’m sure that Logan will be willing to give me the work I missed in the classes we have together.” Roman nods as he stands leaving his phone on his bed to go change knowing Jan would hear him “Well yes, especially since this had to deal with your mental health. But I missed your kisses today and you know my parents want to take Remus and me to that premier this weekend so we won’t be able to go out on Saturday” he begins changing as he continues talking a pout on his face. He will later deny that he pouted but Jan would know the truth.
“I could always come over now pretty boy, I’m willing to actually use my key this time” Roman smiles a soft look in his eye “Love your probably exhausted, and I know your probably already almost home right?” He knew Jan would come if he asked, he wanted Jan to come over. Wanted to be cuddled in Janus’s arms as they slept as he comes out of his closet wearing a shirt Jan had forgotten the last time he was over. As he picked up his phone he realized he had spaced part of the conversation out and Jan was being quiet now. Sheepishly he ran his fingers through his silver hair. “Jan, did you ask me a question?” the loud laughter of his boyfriend meeting his ears told him all he needed to know that yes, he did actually space out an entire question. “Oh pretty boy, what am I going to do with you. I said yes I’m almost home but if you wanted me to id walk the time to see you. It’s no big deal to me, would you like me to?”
Roman smiles as he sits on his bed before laying down still holding his phone. “No, its fine you don’t have to my love, just, can you talk to me while I fall asleep?” He notices Jan’s eyes soften as he nods “Of course pretty boy, why would I say no?” roman nods getting under his blanket and plugging his phone in so he knew when he fell asleep he could still have his alarm in the morning. They talked for a while, talked about hypothetical futures, a concept still new to Jan as he hadn’t thought much about the future before. Roman talked about the upcoming school play and his plans to audition, while Janus spoke of what his recent acceptance onto the debate team truly meant to him.
They spoke for hours before Roman’s eyes began to droop and his words slurred together. Jan soon found himself face to face with a sleeping roman, a softer smile than he ever let show crossing his face. After watching him sleep for a bit taking a quick screen shot as usually roman is sleeping on him he can’t get a cute picture like this. Jan decides to say fuck it standing up throwing his jacket over his shoulders he grabbed his keys and began walking to the twin’s place. He would use his key this time so he wouldn’t get kicked out by Roman for using his window but he wanted to hold Roman while he slept and no one could blame him if they saw what currently resided on Jan’s phone. Roman had his eyes closed looking relaxed and calm his hair a bit messy from the pillow, as he got closer his phone had died a bit ago having forgotten to charge it he arrived at the twin’s place.
Quickly letting himself in using his key and leaving his shoes by the door he quickly walked to Romans room. Carefully opening the door so not to cause the door to squeak as all doors tended to shutting it behind him he quickly removes his jacket placing it over the chair in front of the desk in Romans room. He slowly walks over to the bed having turned on roman’s favorite fairy lights hanging around the room. He quickly crawled in behind roman, Roman, noticing the shift in the bed opens his eyes before they widen a bit. In a sleepy voice that makes Jan almost cry knowing he got to hear and see roman like this, roman began speaking softly
“W-wha are you doin here?” Jan smiles a sweet smile as he brings Roman to his chest shushing him softly “It’s alright, I needed to hold you my love” a soft smile crosses romans face as he carefully lifts his hand gently cupping Jan’s cheek stroking over the scales that were there. “Oh Jan,” Jan gently takes romans hand a soft reminder of the first time they had ever cuddled plaguing Jan’s mind he gently presses a soft kiss to Romans hand. “We will talk in the morning Roman, for now I just want to sleep holding my lovely pretty boy” Roman nods still very sleepy “alright, I love you Jan, so much” Jan presses kisses to Romans cheek and neck as he lays his head there “I love you too Roman,”
The room around them is so warm and soft as Jan looks around struggling to stay awake before he hears the soft snore that means Roman has fallen asleep. One more look up at roman from the vantage point he had Janus quickly succumbs to sleep the soft smile on his face as his last thought crosses his mind- Love really is something amazing.
