Work Text:

This is what happens when you put everyone in front of yourself.

This is what happens when you’re too scared to lose anyone else close to you.

This is what happens when you never open up.

You get hurt.

And nobody knows.

They know that you aren’t emotionless, but they don’t know what you feel.

And when it’s mostly pain

You get hurt.

Maybe you should’ve realized your mistake when you’re lying almost unconscious, bleeding out.

But instead you only think about how it’s you, and only you.

No one comes to get you

Of course, it’s only logical, you never told anyone anything.

But you can only stop to think, really, that maybe

Maybe you deserve this.

Maybe nobody pays attention to you, wonders about you, unless they’re in danger.

Because you’re strong, you’ve proven time and time again that you can protect others.

But they don’t care about when you get hurt

Because if you get hurt

You’re weak

And no one cares for a weak person.

There’s thoughts. You'd be lying to say they weren’t prominent.

The thoughts won’t end.

You’re stuck in your own time loop of the same things over and over and over again.

But you don’t object.

What would be the point of contesting facts?

It hurts, but you don’t show it.

You may have called for help, but you’re too weak to move anything.

You’re useless, because of this. No one would answer anyways.

It all starts to fade. There’s a nothingness to you.

You have a lot of questions. Mainly, will they be happy you’re gone?

Will they know you’re gone?

Well, natural selection is at its play. If you die here, it was meant to be.

As it fades to black—not your sight, that had stopped a while ago—your mind is left to think.

But it doesn’t.

Your soul, the one thing you know surrounds you with comfort in a light veil, talks to you instead.

There is no verbal exchange, there are no words to be thought.

But you know, sometimes you’re in too deep.

And that darkness overcomes your thoughts.

Somehow, despite what you've been told, your soul refuses to listen to a fake past.

When it’s all almost gone with nothing left;

You know, that it will be alright.

Jotaro knew, when he felt he was being watched over that time ago;

When he heard his name being called out by that teen he met months ago;

When Star let go with care;

Jotaro knew, it would all be ok.
