Work Text:

"You coming, blondie?" The Snake-Themed Hero offered, hand held outstretched towards the model from where he perched in the ajar window.

"Luka?" He asked, after all he was there when the other boy had received his Miraculous, so neither flinched at the name.

"Viperion." The other corrected with a wink that had Adriens stomach flip over backwards and swarm with butterflies all at once.

"Viperion. Where- Where are we going?" He asked, gladly crossing the distance between them to take the offered hand. Viperion easily pulled the other up to rest on the window ledge.

"Away from here." Was the only offered response, but it appeased Adrien regardless who took one last glance at his door, bolted shut from the otherside for three long days, opened only at mealtimes. His father had grown increasingly paranoid as of late and Adrien had suffered as a result.

"Please." Adrien nodded, grateful for the escape. He'd have taken the outing himself as Chat but he knew for a fact his father had installed Cameras, Plagg had worked his magic to destroy the audio input if only so the two could still converse but that meant no more transforming in his room.

But running away with Viperion, that wouldn't give his own identity away, so he took the hand with relief and no hesitation.

"Let's go then, pretty boy." Viperion cooed, giving a smirk when Adrien flushed at the name before the elder teen wrapped an arm around the others waist and dropped them off the ledge. Viperion had expected some sort of noise of fear considering the drop but Adrien made no sound nor flinch, only a grin and a laugh of relief.

"You took that better than I expected." Viperion quirked, carrying the blonde up into a different rooftop before finally setting him down. Adrien pursed his lips for a moment before answering.

"Well, I did have Sass before you." Adrien decided to admit, seeing no other way to explain his lack of fear of jumping from a window without bringing Chat Noir into things.

"Obviously." Luka smirked. "I do have a brain." He snarkily added.

“Oh- uh yeah, I wasn’t implying you didn’t- sorry-” Adrien stumbled over his words, confused why he couldn’t get a straight sentence out. Luka laughed at his dilemma, a low sound that had Adrien’s stomach flip again. Holy shit. Adrien knew this feeling. He’d felt it the first time he’d seen Ladybug in action- Luka took a seat on the edge of the rooftop, his legs dangling off the edge and he patted the space beside him.

“Viperion-” Adrien started, wondering how to word his question. Luka turned, tilted his head and beckoned Adrien to sit with him, the other followed the unspoken command, taking a seat beside the other.

“How did you know?” Adrien asked, and Luka gave a small smile.

“A certain red bug told me.”

“Ladybug?”

“Try a bit smaller.”

“Her Kwami?” Adrien asked. Viperion nodded.

“How she knew, I can only guess.”

“Uh- So Ladybug knows too? That I was a prisoner in my own house?” He trailed a hand down his face. “I’m so embarrassed.”

“Hey, it’s not embarrassing, it’s cruel. Your father shouldn’t be allowed to just lock you up.” Viperion argued.

“He’s just trying to protect me in his own way, he’s… since Mother vanished- he’s-” Adrien fumbled. He didn’t want to badmouth his father but it was true he’d changed since Emile had left them.

“He’s doing it wrong. Keeping you locked inside isn’t protecting you.” Luka retorted and Adrien shrugged.

“What can I do?”

"Tell him, and if he won't listen, well." Luka paused. "You can always run away and move in with me, my mother won't mind." Luka offered.

“R-Really?” Adrien asked, gaping. He’d offer that much?

“Well, yeah, we’re friends after all, aren’t we?” Luka asked, and Adrien nodded eagerly.

“Of course we are!" Adrien agreed, even if his stomach and his heart wanted to protest otherwise.

“Good.” Luka murmured as the chilly night air of Paris caused Adrien to shiver.

“Oh, sorry, you’re cold.” Luka noted, after all he’d kidnapped the boy without even grabbing him a coat-

“I’m fine. Honest.” Adrien lied as he shivered again. Luka reached the boys shoulder furthest from him and pulled the shorter boy against him.

“Luka?”

“I can’t exactly offer you my coat without detransforming- so I’ll offer you my body heat.” He quirked and Adrien spluttered but didn’t move from where he nested against Luka’s side.

The two sat there, Adrien digging his fingers into Luka’s upper arm, clinging to the other for a semblance of warmth, not wanting to return to the mansion like he knew he’d have to. He had to face his father whether he liked it or not, but the promise Luka had made if things didn’t work out reassured his nerves.

“I could sit here all night.” Adrien admitted, enjoying the lights of his city. Paris was beautiful.

“Me too.” Luka quietly.

“It’s beautiful.” Adrien voiced his thoughts, gazing at the view and Luka nodded.

“Yeah, you are- I mean-” He stumbled on his words, then laughed, while Adrien flushed, words stuck in his throat.

“Y-You think so?” He asked, a flash of insecurity flooding his mind, Luka nodded hesitantly.

“I do, is that okay?” He questioned, still hesitant, tone apprehensive.

“Y-Yeah.” Adrien nodded, still with red cheeks that had Luka smile slightly. Gosh he was so cute.

“I mean every word of it. You’re- You’re gorgeous. Inside and out. I’ve never heard such a soothing heart song.” Luka admitted, while Adrien let out a barely audible gasp.

“Sorry- that was probably too forward-”

“No-No it- its fine- thank you-” Adrien felt his stomach flutter as Luka caught his eyes.

“C-Can I- no sorry-” Luka started before backtracking, eyes dropping. Adrien furrowed his brow.

“Can you what?” Adrien managed to ask

“Can I kiss you?” Luka whispered, Adrien’s brain ground to a halt. Shit. How did he formulate words again?

Instead he nodded. He couldn’t get any words out but relief washed over Luka’s face, who reached a hand up to his cheek. Adrien could feel his heartbeat in his ears.

Everything was going swimmingly, Luka leaned forward- and then a scream had them bolting apart before their lips could meet. Another scream had them shaken to attention.

Oh. An Akuma attack.

Luka seemed annoyed at the timing but stood up, careful not to knock Adrien as he peeled himself away from the blonde.

“I’ve gotta get you somewhere safe.” Luka announced, scooping the model into his arms.

“Wait- Viperion-” Adrien struggled but without his own suit on he was powerless against the Miraculous-weilding boy.

“No arguing, c’mon!” Luka mumbled, knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to focus on a fight if he didn’t know Adrien was safe-

But his efforts were in vain as the Akuma was on them instantly, almost as though he was seeking them out, but why would it?

“Adrien Agreste!” The floating being shrieked, a female form, doused in vile bright colours with huge wings and apparently the ability to shoot laser eyes if the scorch mark on the floor beside them was anything to go by.

“Get behind me.” Luka declared, knowing he could no longer escape with Adrien, he’d have to fight now, until Ladybug and Chat Noir could show up.

“Move aside!” The girl screeched, shooting at Luka who barely dodged, eyes only set on Adrien.

“Viperion!” Adrien couldn’t help but shout in concern, as Luka struggled to avoid the Akuma’s brutal attack.

“Stay back!” Viperion yelled over the zipping sounds the lasers made, Luka slowly being edged backwards to the edge of the roof by the Akuma’s calculated fire.

“Viperion!” Adrien called again, concern radiating from his every nerve. He needed to help.

His shout distracted the snake hero who turned to check on Adrien, the Akuma followed his line of sight and saw the opening. Luka paid heed to the action too and instantly surged to throw himself in front of Adrien, taking a blast to the chest.

“Viperion!” Adrien knew he needed to stop repeating himself but he couldn’t help it. He dropped to his knees, grabbing Luka’s upper body as the other gave a cough, the air knocked from his lungs as the force of the hit.

“Don’t touch him.” Adrien growled as the Akuma grew closer.

“Or what?

“I’ll stop you!” Adrien retorted, as Luka let out a muffled groan of pain, the front of his suit smoking from the damage.

“Haha, pathetic!” The Akuma hissed. Adrien had no idea why this girl was even out for him in the first place, but he knew he had to protect Luka. Ladybug wasn’t showing up and if he didn’t have her Miraculous Cure, Luka could permanently-

No he couldn’t think like that.

“Adrien- leave me, run.” Luka ground out, hissing as the pain, weakly trying to push the other away.

“No way. I’ve got you.” Adrien murmured in reply, identities be damned, he couldn’t watch Luka get hurt like this.

“Adrien-”

“Plagg. Claws out.”

The green light washed over him as Adrien bowed his head. Gone was his usual theatrics, instead he was eerily quiet, even as he heard Luka’s gasp and the Akuma freeze, Hawkmoth mask returning to its face.

Oh yeah, Hawkmoth knew now.

“Leave them? But- Chat Noir is right here? I can get his Miraculous?” The Akuma argued. Hawkmoth wanted the Akuma to leave? Why.

“No, I want my revenge, you promise!” The Akuma hissed, and Adrien stood confused as the Akuma continued it’s argument.

Taking its moment of distraction, he crouched down, carefully picked up Luka and left, carrying the other across the rooftops. The Akuma eventually noticed and took chase.

“Incoming!”

The voice has Chat sign in relief as Ladybug swung past him and kicked the Akuma back with the momentum of her swing. The Akuma let out a hiss.

“Get him somewhere safe, Chat!” LB yelled, Chat only nodded and continued his escape, heading further away from the fight, until he deemed it safe to drop into an alley, depositing Luka down, relieved when moments later, the Miraculous Ladybugs swarmed the sky, Luka sitting up with a wince before his face broke into a smile.

“I’m okay, pretty kitty.” Luka teased as Adrien hugged him in relief, pressing his face against the others chest, as destransformations washed over them both. Sass and Plagg looked at one another silently before Sass fair tugged Plagg up and away from the two, giving them some privacy.

“Don’t ever do that again!” Adrien huffed, and Luka only let out a hum, neither agreeing or disagreeing.

“What, protect you? Never.”

“Idiot-” Adrien had no malice behind his words.

“Now, before we were rudely interrupted, I believe I promised my pretty kitty cat a certain something?” Luka teased, Adrien flushing once more at the name. While he flirted with LB with confidence and no shame, being on the receiving end seemed to have him a mess.

“Please.” Adrien whispered as Luka cupped his cheeks with both hands, closing the gap between them to gently press his lips against the short boys. It was short and sweet, and Luka pulled back first, to make sure the other was okay. Adrien was having none of it though, he surged forward, closing the gap between them again, Luka gasping into his mouth.

“Adrien-” He managed to mumble against his lips as the blonde hesitantly pressed his teeth against the older boys bottom lip.

“Luka-”

“You’re killing me.” Luka sighed in delight as Adrien gave a teasing nibble, smirk evident on his lips. Gone was his flustered hesitance as he took control.

“What, cat got your tongue?” He smugly questioned as he pulled back. Luka went silent. Adrien paused, about to ask what was wrong, had he pushed too far, when Luka burst into laughter,

“Th-That as awful- please-”

“But puns-” Adrien whined as Luka continued to laugh, Adrien pouting at the action.

“Oh you silly kitten.” Luka affectionately whispered.

Your silly kitten.” Adrien corrected, Luka only nodding as once more the gap between them closed, alone together in the cool night air.

Notes:

Luka just forgot he deadass could have second chance-d as soon as the Akuma showed up...

and yes Chat literally gave his identity away and then didn't fight- but its implied Gabe was in shock his son was Chat and didn't want the Akuma to hurt him so the transformation DID help.

Ladybug spends hours searching for them to make sure Luka is ok, but they're too busy making out in a random alley LOL.
