You Understood That!?😮🥺
In Marinette's room, two friends hang out, Indian-seated, chatting about their day like normal teens (in which they are not). Each now recognized their feelings for the other, though still didn’t know that they felt the same.
"Your friend did that? I thought only one person would do that!" Mari laughed as the cat hero told her about his experience at the zoo.
"Really? Who?" The model-in-a-superhero-disguise was mentioning Kim's challenge with a rabbit and a kangaroo.
"You!" She laughed louder and Chat pouted. He looked cute, but she would never let him know (or maybe in the future😏).
"That hurts, you know!" He pretended to be hurt, putting his hand on his chest.
"The truth hurts, but it makes you better." She quoted as they then giggled together.
"What about you, my [that went unnoticed] purr~incess? Truth or Dare?" It is now the second round.
"Hmm... Truth, I guess?" She doesn't want an annoying dare. Last week, Chat made her endure his, I quote, agonizing puns.
"Okay then! Since I know that you say you secretly like my puns—” The bluenette facepalmed.
“I don’t,” She overlapped, then realized that it wasn’t the truth.
“you only say that, but is there anything else you hate more? There has gotta be something else, right? Except for Hawkmoth, or Shadowmoth, whatever his name may be, of course.” He wanted to show her that his puns aren’t actually bad. He has hinted of who, but he also needs confirmation.
“There is someone, I guess.” She looked at him knowingly. “Lila Rossi. Do you know her?” She never told him about her before.
“I know her well. She lies every moment she gets. Probably the third person I hate, too!” So clingy. It makes him super uncomfortable and makes their modeling time longer! Can't she just leave it as hard as it is already?
“Yeah. She lies about knowing every celebrity mentioned. No one even knows that she lies except me and my friend Adrien. She doesn’t annoy me as much as before. I think?” The liar still threatens her but doesn’t do it as often. It's mainly because she doesn’t want to be annoyed and stopped calling out her lies.
“She doesn’t harm you or anything, does she?” He can’t stop the intense stare he’s giving to find her out.
“Uhh, of course not!” Or physically, that is.
‘Wait, I'm supposed to say the truth! But maybe he’ll be mad? I should play the game right!’ She’s sorting out her inner argument about telling him or not.
“I mean, I guess no one is threatening me.” A big and loud gasp was given by the cat, the exact moment she stopped at the last word.
“How dare she!!!” He was exceedingly exasperated that can be only described beyond words.
“Chat!?” She was confused at the moment.
"I thought she doesn't do anything hurtful anymore‼" He already warned the, the what to call her, that villain who is worse than Hawkmoth. The worst person in his mind right now, as it seems.
"You understood that!?" Marinette did tell the truth. Lila is absolutely no one at all.
“Why didn’t you tell anyone, or your friend Adrien or expose her or anything!” He’s having one of his self-accusations.
‘She took the high road because of me!’ He blamed himself for not knowing, doing nothing, and with the fact that a particular prevaricator is currently breathing. He's having a panic attack, thinking about more horrible things she might have done, growing more anxious.
“Chat, calm down. You might wake Shadowmoth up. You wouldn't want that, right?" The tone of her voice was calm, even though she wants to be mad too. She can't let Hawkmoth (no one cares what his name is) take advantage of her feelings, and he knows Chat does too!
"I'm sorry Marinette." He can't tell her why, but he’s itching to do so.
“It’s okay, Chat. It’s not your fault. I’m still good!” She smiled to cheer him up. “See?” She really needs to give him one of the Ladybug lucky charms so he wouldn’t worry about getting akumatized anymore.
“I’m sorry Mari. I'm supposed to protect you because— I mean, everyone in Paris! I’m really sorry! I should go there and—” She brushed his cheek, making him face her, then gave an everything’s-fine smile. They stared at each other for a moment before she felt the urge to put her lips on his. It looks like she didn’t need to worry anyway when he took the lead. It didn’t last when he realized what he did. (Sorry for the suspension, folks! ☹)
“Sorry Mari, I shouldn’t have done that because you like someone else and—seeyoubye!” Anchored in her position, she just stared at the trapdoor he went through.
