Chapter Text
Logan sighed as he puts on his grey apron, not wanting to deal with another day of rude, ignorant and plainly odd customers. Then again he does need the money to keep a stable living arrangement and his co-workers aren't the worst people in the world. At least neither of them were blatantly disrespectful unless the person they were dealing with gave them a valid reason to be. They were both slightly odd characters, Janus with their love for the dramatics and 1920s fashion and Janice with xyr odd hair colors and occultist behaviors.
So his co-workers aren't the worst people in the world, he even occasionally ‘hangs out’ with them outside of work. He zones back in by the time Janice gets to work, Logan was always the first to work so it isn't a surprise that he was already there.
“Hey Logan, wanna place the daily bets on Remy's order? I have me and Janus’ bet ready.”
“The correct word would be ‘Want to’ and you know what I am going to bet. A ‘pumpkin spiced seasonal depression’ as he calls it.” Xe starts helping him clean the kitchen before they open for the day.
As soon as Logan flips the sign to open in walks their most common customer, Remy Abate.
“I'll have a dark mocha and a pumpkin spiced seasonal depression.” He says, walking up to the counter.
“Who's the other drink for? Have you finally talked to Emile?” Logan asks, ringing up the total.
“Psh-,No it's for my co-worker Virgil, Patton didn't want anything.”
“I thought only you and Patton worked there?” Janice joins in.
“I swear I have told you about Virgil, I actually think he and Logan would get along great.”
“I shall keep that in mind the next time I am in need of friends.” Logan responds, going to work on getting their drink together.
After a few hours (not like Logan's counting) the bell rings and Logan starts the regular dialogue.
“Hello and welcome to One Drop Coffee Shop- Oh hi Janus.” Janus and their roommate, Remus, walk in together.
“Hello Logan, I hope you had a good shift and I will be seeing you tomorrow.” Janus tips their bowler hat and goes to grab their apron from its yellow hook. At that sight Logan goes to hang his apron on the blue hook and head out for the day.
Logan gets in his car and starts to drive back to his apartment building. After a few minutes he is home, he grabs his keys and heads for apartment 4B. Luckily he didn't have to take the stairs up to his apartment. He grabbed his blue and black key to open the door before settling on his couch and choosing a documentary on Netflix to play in the background. He skims his bookshelf and pulls out a historical-fiction book titled ‘Blast from the past’ it was centered around a 1950s housewife finding themselves in modern day New York and meeting two women she later falls in love with. He appreciated polyamorous representation in media because he himself is polyamorous. He reads for another half an hour he goes to bed. After settling down for the evening Logan is lulled into a gentle sleep.
-Time skip to three weeks ahead-
Logan has been forced into babysitting duty, it was either that or cover Janice's shift during finals week and though he sympathizes with the teens it was always so busy, also xyr partners were also working. So here he was, taking xyr kid, Quinn to preschool. He takes the young boy by the hand and walks him up to the pre-school. Quinn pulls ahead and opens the door for Logan.
“Why thank you kind sir.” He attempts to joke with the four year old. Quinn was not amused. A man ran up to Quinn, picking him up and spinning him around.
“Roooommmmmaaaaannnnn” He says until the man puts him down.
Logan hadn't gotten a good look at the man before this point, he was tall, but not taller than Logan. His skin was a nice tan with a muscular build. He had wavy brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing a red shirt and some plain blue jeans as well as some white chuck tailors. On top of the shirt he had a lanyard with his nametag, a pronoun pin, a bisexual pin, and a trans pin. After he met the man's eyes again he realized that he was staring.
“I apologize, I am here to drop off Quinn in place of my co-worker Janice, xe apologizes.” Roman seems to understand.
“Oh okay, thank you Mr. -” Roman says waiting for a name.
“Logan, and it is not a problem. Especially because I got to meet you, I shall see you when I come to pick Quinn up.” Roman gives a nod as Logan exits the building.
Logan runs to his car and calls the only person he knows that can help in this situation.
“What's up babes?”
“I may have gotten myself into a bit of a situation, with Quinn's teacher.”
“What kind of situation? Cause if it's a legal type situation you should call Janus, not me.”
“First of all, the word you were looking for was because. Second of all, it's a… boy situation.”
“Ooh now I'm interested, spill.”
“What would I spill, I have no drink and even if I did that would be highly illogic-”
“Just tell me what happened, nerd.”
“Well, I was dropping him off when I saw the teacher, he was, what do you say, gorge? Any way he was very attractive and I ended up staring at him for probably around five minutes before I snapped out of it then I believe I flirted with him and then left,”
“Well when you go to pick up Quinn you HAVE to ask him on a date or at least for his phone number.”
“Would that really be the best course of action?”
“Yes, now go do it!”
“The day isn't over until 1”
“Oh yeah, well when the day is over good luck! Now I have to get back to work, have fun babes!”
Remy focused.
“What was that rem?” Virgil asked after Remy hung up the call.
“Just a friend asking for some boy advice.” Remy replies shrugging.
“Well pat asked me to tell you that you have to do the next bouquet.” Virgil says going to place some more new flowers on the stands.
“Ugh not again.”
