Work Text:
Tubbo was flipping through one of the books they found from some old dungeon when he found one on Fiber Arts; knitting, crocheting, punch art, etc. A bunch of stuff from sweaters to blankets to bags to stuffed animals.
The teen made a note to try and make Micheal some sweaters, maybe make him a new chicken toy stuffed animal when they had the chance. But what had his attention from within the book, was amigurumi.
Amigurumi is a Japanese art of making stuffed animals by crocheting or knitting, dolls, or even stuff that looks like food. One of the stuffed animal patterns had caught his attention.
A bee the size of a human head. Perfect.
Shoving the book into their hoodie pocket, the teen hurried over to the ladder to Micheal’s room. Pushing up the trap door, he looked over the room.
The room was wide, with a bed pushed against the back wall, pushed into the counter. He saw that Ranboo was reading Micheal to sleep, so the small zombie piglin could take a nap for a few hours.
“Ranboo, my beloved, I want to make bees.”
The enderman hybrid looked up at the teen, frowning as he closed the book he was reading from, placing it on the toddler’s side table.
“What?”
Tubbo came to sit on the floor, closing the trap door behind him. “I found a book on stuff like yarn and crafts and shit, and I want to make yarn bees but different!”
The enderman walked over and sat beside his husband, frowning. “Ok, explain.”
The shorter took out his book, flipping through the pages before stopping on the page they were looking for, before shoving it into Ranboo’s hand. “This. I want to make a bunch of these. But, pride.”
“Pride? Like the flags and stuff?”
The teen nodded. “Like, I could make one for all of our friends,” he explained. “And I could make regular bees for anyone that's just straight.”
“And you want to get these done before June?” His husband nodded. “You do realize, that's four days away, and you have never crochet before?”
“So we’ll do it together!” he grabbed the book, shoving it back into their pocket before grabbing hold of Ranboo’s hand. “Come on, we have wool and dye to collect.”
It was a week later when boxes started showing up on people’s doorsteps.
On the doorstep of Technoblades house, two boxes show up. One with Phil’s name on it, and the other with Techno’s.
When the man woke up, heading out to grab some firewood, he almost tripped over the precisely placed boxes. Grumbling, he picked them up, hesitant about how light the two were; the one with his name was a bit heavier than the other, which confused him.
Forgoing the firewood, for now, he brought them inside.
He placed the one with Phil’s name on it on the couch, planning to give it to him later (if he was sure this wasn't a trap of some sort).
Slowly opening it, he was a bit startled when he pulled out two bees from his box. They were crochet, made of what felt like sheep wool. Usually, with a bee, you see yellow and black. But these two were different.
One was black, purple, gray, and white, the colors of the Ace flag. And the other was two shades of green, black, gray, and white. The Aro flag colors.
Glancing into the box, he saw a small, folded-up piece of paper on the bottom of the box. Placing the bees, he grabbed the paper.
‘Techno, I know you don’t like him, but Tubbo and I made these bees. Neither of us could find an AroAce flag, not one that seemed to work for one bee, so we just agreed to make you two! Um, hope you like them. -Ranboo and Tubbo’
The piglin snorted, face cracking into a smile.
Over at the rainbow castle under the ownership of one Eret, another box showed up on the front stairs of the place. The person in question, the king of the place, was going into a small garden he had set up when he spotted the box.
Picking it up, Eret frowned a bit at how empty it felt, but from giving it a small shake, there was a soft movement in it.
She brought it with them over to the garden, her cape following after them as she went straight for the stone picnic table. Placing the box onto the surface, Eret opened it and smiled at the object within.
They pulled out a bi-flag-colored bee, which made them smile at the sight of it. A note pin to the crochet bee informed him that it was made by Tubbo and Ranboo. Placing the bee down, Eret made a mental note to thank the two when they saw them next.
Around the server, boxes were showing up at everyone’s doorstep. Some, plain black and yellow. Most of the colors of everyone’s pride flag, from gay to bi to ace to everything in between.
No one didn’t get a bee. The hero nor the villain was left without a bee to call their own. And within the house within Snowchester, a small family were laughing and giggling as the zombie pigling toddler ran around with a plain, yellow and black bee stuffed animal in his arms, as his father laughed at his goofy nature.
Two other bees, one the colors of black, purple, white, and yellow, and the other a simple rainbow-colored one sat to the side, belonging to the pair of parents. Across the server, bees of pride made people crack a few smiles.
