Work Text:
The large bedroom you two shared was nothing less than expected from the Ultimate Heir. A large library filled with an endless collection of books going from romance to mystery. The both of you always enjoyed reading together, an activity usually done alone, but for you, it was a way to spend time together, since you both were extremely busy in the day.
Laying down on your bed, face in the pillow, you reached for the other side of the bed hoping to find your husband. When you felt it was empty, you opened your eyes, still drowsy. Where could he be? You looked over at the clock, it was late or early in the morning depending on the point of view. You sat up and looked around the room, he wasn’t about to go to bed either. You concluded he must still be working. You got up and put on a robe, holding it as tightly as possible on your body to keep the warmth from escaping.
Despite the quality of the floor, it creaked every time you took a step, you were also cursing the fact his office was so far from the bedroom. When you finally arrived, you opened the door to see him working. You yawned loudly, still from the fact you were sleep and to catch his attention.
“Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” he said keeping his full attention on his computer. You walked over to him, “I woke up because you weren’t in bed.” He glanced up, “I need to finish this before.”
You stood there for a second, you didn’t want to walk back to the bedroom, you were far too tired and so you walked over to his desk and sat on his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck and nuzzling it, "What are you doing?" he asked shocked at the sudden clinginess, "Making myself comfortable" you mumbled. He went back to what he was doing, trying to ignore the heat that spread to his face.
Your eyes grew heavier and you were fighting the urge to fall asleep, you started nibbling on his neck trying to get his attention back to you. You felt him tense up. You raised your head and pressed your forehead against his, "Please come to bed, you need it." You cupped his cheek and pecked his lips. He sighed in defeat, "Fine, but I'm not carrying you-" he looked at you and rolled his eyes. You had fallen asleep.
Reluctant, he carried you back to your shared bedroom. He set you on the bed, pulling the cover over you. After getting ready for bed, he stood in front of the library and picked a random book. He sat down on his side of the bed.
Feeling the bed shift a bit, you opened your eyes to see him absorbed in the story, you smiled and sat up laying your head on his shoulder. He scoffed and wrapped his arm around your shoulder bringing you closer. You wrap your arms around his waist and the both of you read in peace. Each time he was about to turn a page, he’d kiss the top of your head, placing his attention back on the story
After a while, he had trouble doing so since your head kept slightly tilting forward before quickly regaining its original position. He stroked your hair, “Dear, you need to sleep you’re exhausted.” He whispered before pressing his lips on the crown of your head.
“I’m fine,” you mumbled resting your head on his chest, he rolled his eyes and went back to the story.
To no one’s surprise, it didn't take five minutes before you were deep asleep, resting on him, to that he only smiled, "Oh Y/N, you can be so stubborn sometimes."
He read for another half hour before closing the book placing it on the nightstand. He turned off the lamp and slowly slipped himself furth under the covers, trying his best not to wake you up. He pressed another kiss on the top of your head and smiled, "Goodnight Y/N."
