Summary
It’s a distant look, one Squall’s seen on his own features too many times since, but never once on Seifer’s, in all the years they’ve known each other. It makes him want to reach out and snuff the angry life out of the many demons lingering in the background of his heart that’re now suddenly threatening to burst out and take hold of him first.
But Squall has never been good at comfort, has never had the right words to say when it comes to people and their feelings, has never been able to placate the deeply ingrained distress that gnaws inside his own chest or the aching tension left behind by years of emotional suppression and denial that settles like an anchor along his temples.
