Burning Scarring Kisses

Summary:

Hange and Levi live together after the war, and one afternoon Levi decided to make tea for them.

Notes:

I honestly love this and have been working on it for a long time so I hope you enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Hange sipped their tea and scowled, it was still hot. They looked over at Levi who seemed to not notice, or not care about the liquid currently scolding his tongue and lips. "How are you drinking it? Isn't it hot?"

Hange knew how stubborn Levi could be and figured he simply was too impatient to wait for it to cool. They envisioned the male scowling at a cup of tea after it burning his tongue only for him to start drinking it again.

"Been drinking it hot for years now, Fucking burns but doesn't bother me" Levi shrugged.

Ah, that would also make sense. Hange looked to their cup, steam still rising off of it. They decided if Levi could drink it hot, they could as well. Hange brought the porcelain to their lips and sipped.

Yup...not a good idea.

They placed the cup down frowning. Their tongue felt numb and burned ever so slightly. Levi chuckled lightly, trying to mask it as a cough.

"You know you can blow on it right"
Hange stared at the tea, they had honestly forgotten. Levi stood from his seat and grabbed Hange's cup and gently blew on the dark-colored liquid. Hange couldn't keep their eyes off him as he softly cooled the tea. "Hm, do I have something on my face shitty eyes?"

"You seem to really like those words. The dirty ones"

Levi hummed turning to look at them, "Shit can be used to describe anything. Same with fuck." He clicked his tongue "Fun words"

Hange sighed, of course, they expected that response. "So...give me something to work with here, I need an example"

The male grumbled, thinking "Fine. You smell like shit and this conversation is really fucking boring."

"So it cant be used in a positive connotation?" Hange pried, they had fun messing with him.

"I don't know why you would but, yeah guess you can." They looked at him and raised an eyebrow. He sighed, "Fine fine here's another example. You have a pretty fucking decent personality and well, I guess your face isn't as shitty as your eyes."

Hange laughed, so Levi turned away from them. "You know I never said it had to be about me." Hange's eyes watered as they calmed.

Levi stood from his chair, evidently embarrassed. He muttered something about getting ice for their burnt tongue. Though it was probably just an excuse though since Hange was sure he was aware you don't put ice on burns.

Hange followed behind him. They debated sitting back down but figured it would be best to apologize. "Sorry, Levi. Didn't mean to embarrass you"

"Dumbass, don't apologize." He looked back at Hange and approached them. "I think I have something that might help the burn."

The commander gasped as Levi closed the distance between them, lips meeting and a blush spread on the brunette's face. Levi's arm rested comfortably on the wall above Hange's shoulder. They shuddered after releasing their kiss. Wow, they never expected Levi to be so bold, It was strange, as far as Hange knew, Levi had never shown any implications of sexual nor romantic feelings toward them.

Maybe this wasn't supposed to be sexual. Maybe it was affection, a romantic, platonic event in which no sexual desire was entwined.

Enough about past events, at that was years ago, they need to be over it. "Levi...That was..."

Levi pulled his arm back moving it to his neck, a nervous habit perhaps. "Yeah, should have asked first. Does your tongue feel better?"

"I suppose, though maybe I need one more."

A flicker of something flew through Levi's eyes. A longing feeling filled his chest, he wanted this. Their lips connected once more, The scar over his lip grazing over Hange's soft and tender lips. Almost enough to make him freeze, did that bother them, the scar on his face?

He pulled back locking eyes with them, "Hange, do these scars bother you, not just the ones on my face but all of them, the ones wrapping around my legs and arms. My torso and back, the ones from battle and the ones from myself. Are they unappealing?"

Levi pondered what their response would be. He knew them well enough to know it wouldn't be anything negative. "They don't bother me, I mean, we all have them. Scars, No way to avoid them. I have always seen them as stories. Some may be uninteresting, they may be sad and bring about pity, though they are all stories. right there on your skin." Hange jabbed their finger into Levi's chest, He stepped back staring at them.

Hange pulled Levi stumbling up the stairs and into his bedroom. Levi wondered their intentions. After settling on the bed Hange moved their hands swiftly unbuttoning their shirt, leaving a bare chest exposed to Levi. Small scars littered their skin, along with dark bruises, strips of pale skin lined across their chest, reaching up to their collar bones and down their arms. Hange leaned to Levi grabbing the collar of his shirt. "Can I?"

He nodded, he felt vulnerable, yet comfortable, almost at ease. Once off both of their shirts were folded and set aside, gentle hands traced the scars on Levi's body, the large and small, some small and faded others shiny and jagged. Slowly they made their way up the retired captain's body, tracing his neck and to his face. They shifted Levi into their lap, adjusting his weight and wrapping their arms around him. He turned his head to look at them, Hange took the opportunity to lay their fingers across his cheek. Thumb brushing against the line crossing his eye. They still recalled when they had found him, laying in the water, presumably dead.

Now the only remnant of that day was the scars covering Levi's face and the painful memories that still lingered.

"You know, you are beautiful" Hange gaped

Levi's hand pressed against theirs as he guided them across his body. Sliding it over and through his hair. They admired his body. "Yeah, Yeah, and your hot but our fucking tea isn't going too be if we take any more time up here"

Notes:

So I honestly can't see them, after all, they had gone through having a sexual relationship. I felt a more domestic romantic relationship fit them a lot better than the alternative. I had also been wanting to explore Levi's character more and show a bit of his vulnerability.

Also fun fact LeviHan is my favorite AoT ship other than Eremin which is a close second place followed by either Eruri or MobuHan.

Anyways I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I had enjoyed writing it.
