“I have somebody that I want to introduce to you.” says Bas from the other side of the phone call, making Oh-Aew’s hands still for a moment.
“Oh?” replies Oh-Aew just as his fingers resume their movements, straightening the canvas hanging in front of him before giving himself some time to look at it with a critical eye; the angle still looks a bit off, but it will have to do.
Around Oh-Aew, the bustle of the workers moving around in his art gallery is muted by the earphones in his ears. They are shifting around, blurred shadows on the white walls and vibrations on the parquet floor, but Oh-Aew doesn’t have eyes for anything except the drawing in front of him; a girl in a frilly white dress, standing on top of a hill covered in flowers, caught in the moments before she lost her precious straw hat.
