Work Text:
My eyes open as I slowly wake up inside my sleeping bag. This is unusual; I'm usually woken up by Snivy getting up. Maybe they stayed up too late playing with their new art supplies and now they're sleeping in?
But no; beside me, Snivy's sleeping bag is empty, so they've already gotten up. I get up and exit the tent to find that Snivy's already started drawing again. "Good morning Snivy."
Snivy turns to face me, and I barely recognize them through the dark circles under their eyes. "wha..? oh. gmornin mudkip."
"S-Snivy? Are you okay?"
"yeh, i'm fine. i jus can't make this dum flower work..." Snivy turns back to their paper, upon which is a scribbled mess that I assume is supposed to be a flower.
"Snivy, did you... did you stay up ALL NIGHT drawing?!"
"yea."
I sigh. We were supposed to set out for a new dungeon today, but now... "Come on, get in the tent and get some sleep, we can't travel with you like this."
"wha? 'm fine, 's jus one night without sleep, how bad could it be?" Snivy stands up, and a few seconds pass before they fall to the ground. "... wha happn?"
"You owe me big time for this." I pick up Snivy and carry them to the tent.
"thanks mudkip, y're such a good frenn." Snivy's arms wrap around me in a weak hug.
"Yeah, yeah. Less talking, more sleeping." I finally reach Snivy's sleeping bag. I maneuver Snivy's limp body into the bag, feet first. "There. Now off to dreamland with you." My duty finished, I walk away to have some breakfast.
"wha? hey no, wait..." Snivy grabs my leg before I can leave. "plees stay, i dun wan yu to go..." They plead at me with the most pathetic puppy dog eyes I've ever seen.
"... Fine, okay."
"yaaay..."
I settle down next to them, outside their sleeping bag. In this state, it probably won't be long until they fall asleep. I can spare a few minutes to give them company. Snivy again wraps their arms around me, and I return the hug.
"... i luv yu mudkip..."
I sigh. "I love you too."
