Technoblade had traversed the servers, claimed entire countries, and fought in wars. Scribed his name in the history books of Hypixel, dominated the lands of Minecraft Mondays. The whispers that followed gave him a reputation to be feared, titles associated with him that could make even the strongest warriors quake on the spot.
'The Blade'
'The Blood God'
'Human GPS'
'Technoplane'
'The Potato Farmer'
A few were a bit interesting, a few were expected. In short, he knew he was feared. Never craved family, only wanted one thing, blood. He was traveling, staying at an inn for the night when he heard the murmurs. The rumors of a land full of war and blood, revolutions and dictatorships, chaos and insanity. A place where nobody dared step foot, the land that only contained war and danger, cut off from nearly all servers. A few familiar names were bought up, ones he recognized quite well from some of his other feats. Even Hermitcraft, their neighbors, didn't dare associate themselves with this place, the last time they tried they walked in on ash and soot and a country blown to smithereens.
Of course, Technoblade wanted in on this chaos. It couldn't hurt to have his name be remembered in one more place, could it? His voices grew louder, cheering, some whispering in hushed tones things he couldn't make out. Back then, he expected a war.
Not to be comforting a crying, loud, blonde kid in his arms who was definitely soaking his blouse. Both on the floor, grass swaying underneath them, dirt staining their trousers. He couldn't make out what the kid was saying, only that he was saying something... His face was buried in Technoblade's chest, voice muffled.
"Calm down..." Technoblade hushed, mind racing, he didn't sign up for this. He signed up for blood and destruction, not children. Technoblade wrapped his arms around the boy, pulling him even deeper in an embrace and running his hand through his hair. Tommy went quiet, too quiet compared to how normally loud he was.
"I think Wilbur hates me." Tommy choked out, Technoblade going still. Wilbur, he noticed how distant the man seemed recently with the festival approaching, how much he reminded Technoblade of that council leader who declared him a war criminal when he had taken over their server a little back. "I- I don't want to fucking do this anymore! I'm not even eighteen!"
"I know, Tommy. You're not exactly the most mature person." Technoblade laughed, causing Tommy to go still and sob even louder.
Fuck.
His voices were destroying him right now, limb by limb. Technoblade glanced hesitantly beside him and plucked a flower, slipping it behind Tommy's ear.
"Tommy, don't cry- he doesn't deserve you, to me you're still the prettiest girl at the party." Technoblade teased, a smirk painting his face.
He got a shove in response, the boy crying his eyes out letting a small giggle escaped his lips. He pulled the flower from behind his ear, looking down and twirling it as his cheeks flushed. "I'll fucking punt you if you ever say that again."
"Glad to see my masterful plan worked." Technoblade hummed, pushing himself up and stretching his arms out. He bent down to grab his cloak, draping it around his shoulders before sighing. "Wilbur doesn't hate you, he's probably just going through some shit. He's a grown man, it's best we just give him some space."
Technoblade played around with how his cloak hung around his arms, trying to adjust it to be more comfortable. He noticed how Tommy gazed at him, watched him, and observed him heavily as he tied his loose ponytail tighter.
"What?" Technoblade asked, furrowing his brows seeing how the kid just stared. He shakily stood up, legs wobbling as he put his hand out, flower still in it. "You want me to take the flower back? Nah, I ain't a flower type of man, y'know. Ain't my groove."
"Take the fucking flower, bitch." Tommy demanded, Technoblade was tempted to hug him again in relief, he was acting more like himself now. Not some weak-willed child, he knew that wasn't Tommy, the boy was strong and loud and confident. He just broke, showed Technoblade a side of him he might never see again in the rest of his life, that nobody might see again in the rest of their life.
He wouldn't admit how special he felt to be the one receiving that affection.
"I'm gonna go find Wilbur, make sure he isn't like... Blowing himself up." Tommy joked, shuffling awkwardly in place before sprinting off.
'technosoft lol.'
"I'll kill you, Chat."
'try'
A few days later, it happened again.
This scene seemed all too familiar, except it was a festival now and they were lurking in a back alley instead of in a forest.
"I don't wanna do this anymore..." The brunette cried out, fingers digging into Technoblade's back and practically carving marks into his flesh. "I just wanna hang out with bees and do cool stuff, like, get married."
"You're underage, why do you want to get married?" Technoblade muttered incredulously, wincing at the force the boy was digging into him.
"Tax benefits." Tubbo explained.
There wasn't even a tax on this server, what the hell?
Technoblade's last whisper to Tubbo before he died was an apology. That day, he would always have nightmares about that day in the future, the day he killed Tubbo. No, the nightmares weren't caused by killing Tubbo... It was... Because he killed a child, and with all the joking about killing orphans, that only applied to adults.
This was a kid.
A literal kid.
This server seemed to hate children. Sure, other servers hated children too, but that applied to nine-year-olds and usually, it was just bedwars they bashed them in. This place had actual wars though, things that could legitimately traumatize a person. When he retired, he grabbed his quill and immediately scribbled on vellum just random sketches. Ideas, the ideas chat gave him, he put down.
Ideas to help them. To help the children who nobody else dared assist, the cowards exiled them multiple times and laughed in their faces.
Tubbo's dream came true, he had heard the news of the boy marrying some overpowered enderman guy, and when Tommy came crawling in like a rat and stealing his shit, he didn't get mad. He welcomed him with open arms.
"Tommy, I have a request." Technoblade called out to the other side of the house, the blonde raising a brow.
"Yuh?" He asked, talking while still chomping on another golden apple. The kid was going to get poisoned or something by the sheer magic golden apples held, you had to eat them in moderation and that wasn't what the boy was doing, he had to get Tommy rehab for this golden apple addiction and quick, but this wasn't the time.
"Get Tubbo and Ranboo, leave this place with me." Technoblade stated, the boy nearly dropping the golden apple on the spot.
"What!? Leave the server!? Don't you need like, a bunch of expensive shit to do that? Once!? There's four of us!" Tommy cried out, confusion clear.
"What do you think I keep in my enderchest besides my backup netherite and totems?"
When Dream came to visit the house to demand Tommy be returned, he instead saw a house blown to smithereens, animals, and villagers all strangely disappeared, and no Tommy. Later, he heard Ranboo and Tubbo were nowhere to be found either- not even their son Michael was anywhere. Dream's only source of entertainment disappeared.
