Killing me softly

Summary:

The day before George is about to kill his Dream, well not his anymore, it's just Dream now, he's not even sure if he wants to say that beautiful yet disgusting name. He sits in front of his big, fancy, cozy - but empty mushroom house in Kinoko Kingdom. His mothers gold necklace feels heavy on his neck, it's almost like it chokes him more and more everytime he takes a breath. The boots are cleaned few hours before he decided to come outside but he already managed to step into the mud in front of his house. It was raining heavily, but he didn't care, he had a plan and he knew he had to do it.

Work Text:

The knife in his hand felt like it was flaming hot, too many memories attached to it.

-

He remembers the day Dream gave him that exact knife. It was sunny, the sunniest day that year, quite the opposite from how was it right now in Kinoko. They were having their little picnic lunch on the only untouched flower field on the Dream Smp. George really liked those picnics because he could get away from everyone for few hours and just have some alone time with his lover.

It was like tradition. Every Saturday George would make a delicious lunch for him and his lover, while dream would set everything up at the field. Except this Saturday they made a deal that Dream would make the dessert while George makes the rest. He wanted to do something nice for his lover.

They were sitting on dreams blanket with all kinds of foods on it. Barely eaten chocolate cake was in front of them while they glanced at it every few minutes knowing they won't eat it, because dream tried to make something really good and professional, but he messed up the recipe that he asked from Karl. Even though the cake was bad, George reassured his lover that it was the best cake he has ever eaten.

" It's almost as good as my moms." he said smillingly.

Dream took it as a huge compliment because he knew how good Georges mom used to make chocolate cakes. It made his lover happy, so George was happy too.

George remembered how his lover told him he was mesmerizing with his little flower crown, that Dream proudly made, sitting on his brown, fluffy hair.

His lover was protectively holding red roses, that George gave him on the way to the field , in his right hand while George was fidgeting with dreams fingers on his left hand. Everything was calm, the smell of flowers was really fresh and light.

While George was focused on fidgeting with Dreams fingers he suddendly remembered that he wanted to ask Dream about the knife he was carrying with him all the time. He knew it mean a lot to Dream and that he was too protective about it, but he never had courage to ask him about it.

"What's that?" he said with a bit of confusion and nervousness on his face.

"What?" Dream asked putting his attention fully on George.

"That knife in your pocket, i always see you carry it around. " George said carefully.

"Ohh, my mother gave it to me when i was 8, it's always in my pocket or in my bag." dream said proudly while kissing georges temple.

George hummed and just smiled at his lover waiting for him to tell George more about that precious knife. Realizing that Dream doesn't want to talk about it anymore he returned his attention to his lovers hand and continued to fidget with his fingers.

But suddenly Dream slowly pulled his hand back, took out his knife from his pocket, and started wiping the dried blood and dirt off it with his shirt. The knife had a black handle with a letter D engraved on it. The blade itself was kind of dirty but really fancy, it had spirals engraved all over it and small, green emeralds at the bottom.

George was staring at Dream while he was cleaning the knife and he didn't even realize that he had a huge grin on his face until he saw Dream smiling back at him. Dream handed him the knife with a bit of hesistance.

"Here, take it."

The knife was already in Georges hand before he realized what was happening. He held it carefully while glancing at Dream every few seconds.

"Are you sure?" George asked while a smile disappeared from his face knowing how much that knife meant to Dream. He felt like he couldn't take something that important from his lover.

"Yes, of course i am, you mean much more to me than that knife." his lover said before he leaned in and kissed George gently. It was almost like he could read his mind.

After a long kiss full of love and care, George thanked his lover while putting the knife safely in his picnic basket.

-

Now 2 years later, he is sitting in the same place, on "their flower field" but most of it was now covered with buildings of Kinoko Kingdom, he's fidgeting the knife just like he was fidgeting dreams fingers two years ago.

But George from two years ago didn't know that present George would be sitting in the same place, with the same knife in his hand, in the puring rain, waiting for the sun to set, alone, without his lover..

..so he could go and kill Dream, his lover, his nightmare.

He was angry, Dream just left him without an explanation, when Sapnap told him that Dream was in prison and what he did to Tommy and others, he decided that he will kill Dream with the same knife that his lover used to torture other people with, he wanted him to feel their pain.
