Summary
In art history, only few of the greatest masters were able to portray that void that expressed what's unsayable, that emptiness capable of containing everything – Michelangelo in The Creation of Adam, Canova in Psyche revived by Cupid’s kiss.
But none of them had managed to instil, in their figures and their absences, the tension that comes in knowing, deep down, that it's forbidden. The loves of art are meant to be seen – because art is expression, it is a feeling that takes shape: none of this could express the silence, the “whisper” that characterized their feeling; none of this could represent what's not supposed to be seen, and, even, to be thought.Todd and Neil start hanging out in a secret place and struggle to accept their feelings.
