Rangi groaned softly shifting inside the layers of warm blankets tangled around her limbs. She cracked open one eye and then the other slowly surveying the room through blurred vision. Rangi sat up tired, her muscles felt like lead and an almost familiar cramp settled in her lower abdomen. She groaned again as the realization finally settled in. She brought her hand up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes with a small yawn. She looked around finally noticing that Kyoshi wasn't in the room and from the slivers of light penetrating the darkness of the room from behind the curtains she could tell it was already far into the morning probably hours before she woke up seeing as every morning she rose with the sun except on days like these. The dreaded days when her body refused to cooperate with her and she felt like knives were repeatedly being stabbed into her stomach in revenge. She was on her period. While she was lost wallowing in her despair a tall woman had opened the door. Softly and quitely she closed the door behind her "You're finally awake," a smile split her face as she shifted the items she was holding in her arms "I brought you supplies and tea," Rangi looked up with a pathetic glare. " Kyoshi, stop treating it like it's a cold, ” she grumbled “it’s just a stupid period.” she proceeds to mumble allowing Kyoshi time to sit down the few items she had brought which consisted of a pack of pads, various chocolates, pack of oreo's, Heating pad, and Rangi’s favorite tea she had poured into a Thermus to keep warm for her girlfriend. She sat down on the corner of the bed sheepishly waiting for her girlfriend to notice her. Rangi after a moment looked up with a grimace pulled across her soft features “Thank you, Yoshi, ” she mumbled and leaned in to press a soft kiss against her oaf’s nose disappointingly missing her lips entirely. Kyoshi let her crooked grin grow wider as she leaned in to capture her girl's lips in a soft sweet kiss. Kyoshi went to pull away but was stopped by two arms wrapping her in a hug around her neck and pulling her into a deeper sloppier kiss. Rangi was too delirious to care and Kyoshi was too happy to return it to care. Rangi pulled away after a few moments to rest her head against her girl’s shoulder, “We should get you in the shower,” Kyoshi chuckled and pulled her smaller girl in her lap and arms to stand up and carry her to their shared bathroom. “Will you stay with me afterward?” Rangi looked up with pleading eyes. Kyoshi looked down at her small girlfriend with a frown. She closed her eyes furrowing her brows in thought “I could cancel my plans with Wong, Kirima, and Lek this afternoon.” she glanced down at her girlfriend who was curled up in her arms, she resembled a small kitten to Kyoshi which brought a even goofier smile across her lips. She leaned down to press a kiss atop her messy hair soft inhaling her girl's scent. Rangi sighed softly “You shouldn't have to cancel it for me, ” despite herself, a pout tugged at her lips “I’ll be fine till you return.” Kyoshi smiled against her hair and shifted her in her arms to open the bathroom door they had been standing in front of while they had been talking. Kyoshi sat her small flame against the cold tile floor and watched her jump at the sudden contact of icy cold tile against her feet. Kyoshi moved over to the shower and turned the large metal knob letting cold water spray from the shower head above that gradually began to heat up. She turned around to Rangi who was already getting undressed throwing her slightly sweat-dampened clothes to the cold floor. Kyoshi moved from the shower to reach above the wooden shelf above the toilet and picked up one of Rangis fluffy red towels and a red washcloth. She set the fluffy towel atop the closed toilet and turned around to hand her girlfriend who had already hopped into the shower the washcloth. Rangi thanked her with a nod of her head and Kyoshi set to work on picking up her dirty clothes and throwing them in a hamper to wash later. She walked into her shared closet and pulled off a pair of Rangi’s favorite Tiger pajamas from their hanger and laid them on her bed with a clean pair of underwear and a pad. While she was waiting for Rangi to finish her shower she grabbed the remote off the nightstand and turned to the movie so she could flick through the movies on Hulu to find something for her girlfriend to watch while she was gone. Kyoshi quickly settled on Spirited away and pressed play pausing it on the opening scene to wait for Rangi. She set the remote down and checked the time on her phone ‘11:30’ she’s supposed to leave right now to make it on time for her meeting with the ‘Flying opera company’ as lek liked to call them. Her young coworker really was something being the youngest of the group. While Kyoshi was lost in thought pondering if she should call or text Kirima to tell her she would be a little late, but before she could ponder any longer on the topic Rangi opened the bathroom door wrapped in a towel and closed it loudly causing Kyoshi to turn her head in the direction of her beautiful girl. Rangi unwrapped the towel from around her drying body and started to dry off her wet hair. Kyoshi turned away with a deep blush and hid her face in her hands at her increasing indecent thoughts coming to fruit. Her girlfriend was just so beautiful it hurt. Rangi glanced over but didn't bother questioning her embarrassed girlfriend instead choosing to comment on her oaf’s pajama choice “You got my tiger one's.” Kyoshi only hummed but that was good enough for Rangi. She meticulously pulled on all of the items and threw the wrapping of the pad in the small garbage can by the nightstand and sat on the bed cross-legged. Kyoshi moved and laid across the bed to rest her head in Rangi’s lap. Rangi reached out and combed her fingers through Kyoshi’s hair, “I can stay if you want me to,” Kyoshi mumbled fiddling with the soft material of her girls pajamas. She turned her head up to look into her glowing girl's bronze eyes. Rangi huffed out a soft “No, ” before she continued “you need to go, you made plans already and you can't cancel them on something as small as this.” annoyance grew in her voice but Kyoshi could already see the pout forming on her lips. Kyoshi herself pouted and rose to place a soft kiss against her fierce girl's lips. Rangi happily returned it pulling away with a face-splitting smile that made Kyoshi’s heart beat fast. Oh, how hopelessly she was in love with her little Tiger. Kyoshi stood up and grabbed the remote and placed it in her girl’s lap. She picked up the heating pad and turned it on to help Rangi get situated before she left. Rangi got settled into the covers and allowed Kyoshi to wrap the heating pad around her stomach for the incoming horrible cramps she would receive. Kyoshi picked up the warm thermus filled with Jasmine tea with a little honey in it and handed it to Rangi who gratefully took it. Kyoshi placed the pack of oreo’s and chocolate beside her little tiger and kissed her on the forehead “I have to go now I'm late,” she laughed with a sheepish smile “I promise I'll come right home and we can cuddle.” A crooked grin formed on her freckled face. Rangi crinkled her nose in discomfort as a cramp pulled at her stomach but with a small beat she replied back “Promise?” she looked up with puppy eyes she knew Kyoshi couldn't resist. Kyoshi grabbed at the clothing at her heart, how did she deserve this side of her cute girl? “I promise!” Kyoshi couldn't help exclaiming loudly. Rangi just smiled and buried herself under the covers. Kyoshi took that cue to leave and as she opened the door just as Rangi started her movie Rangi called out to her “I love you!” Kyoshi turned around with a smile “I love you too my little Tiger!” she shouted and closed the door quickly and made a run for it as a pillow came flying at her but instead of squaring her in the face it hit the closed door and pitifully fell to the ground having missed its target. Kyoshi ran down the hall laughing hearing the yell from behind her bedroom door “Don’t call me that!” Rangi waited a few moments and when she heard the door to their house shut she burst out laughing despite her trying to seem angry. She was more embarrassed by it if anything, always bringing a blush to her cheeks at the silly childish nickname she was given by Kyoshi when they were kids. She was never able to live it down and somehow they grew even cheesier as years passed. Rangi pulled the covers up to her chin and grabbed her pack of oreo’s to begin paying attention to her ongoing movie.

She had already eaten two sleeves of Oreos, three Kitkat’s, and drank all her tea by the time she was halfway through the movie and she was feeling tired. Rangi closed her eyes for a moment because she wanted to stay up to wait for Kyoshi but that proved to be a mistake because before she knew it she drifted off to sleep Spirited away only background noise to her now.

Kyoshi returned hours later to her sleeping girlfriend. She opened the door to her bedroom to witness the sight of her girl bundled up in a cacoon of covers and pillows. Warmth filled her heart as she moved all her girl's snacks, tv remote, and thermus to their nightstand and cuddled up beside her sleeping girl. She was glowing warm like a coal in the hearth. She rested her head against the top of her glowing girl's head and closed her eyes. Tomorrow she would make up for missing time but right now she was just content on falling asleep with her girl in her arms. It brought a soft smile to her face as she too fell asleep with her small Tiger safely in her arms.
