Work Text:
It was late, so late that the estate was quiet. Not a sound could be heard as he passed his brothers’ rooms on his way to his own; not even from William's room which was saying something to how late it really was. As he opened his door, he sighed and began to get ready to fall into bed. He was barely conscious and if he didn't do this every night, he would have not been able to do it at all.
He didn't even notice the person-sized lump in his bed who had been watching him ever since he came in.
Albert had to get up early to go to work, even though work was the reason he was up so late to begin with. He hoped his boss would have mercy on him soon because this case wes really taking a lot out of him. At last, he was ready to fall into bed. Albert walked over to the bed and plopped face first into his ridiculous amount of pillows — which is probably why he didn't realize that there was someone else already in his bed.
After a while of just laying there, he finally moved to get under the covers, so he could actually let himself fall asleep. Once settled in and comfy, he started to try to relax. As he did so he felt a shift in the bed. Then an arm pulling him close to a warm body.
Somewhere in his subconscious he knew that it was Mycroft but it took the rest of his brain longer to realize it. As he started to react to an unknown arm holding him, Mycroft kissed the nape of his neck then said softly, "Shh, it's okay. It's only me."
Albert froze when he recognized Mycroft's voice. Then after a minute he let out a deep breath then said, "My, you startled me." He started to try to relax again, this time holding onto Mycroft's hand as he held him close.
“I know. I am sorry, I didn't mean to. Did the task I gave you really take you that long?"
"Mmmm," Albert hummed sleepily. "Sleep now, talk later," Albert half mumbled, not having the energy to talk.
Mycroft laughed softly. "Sleep, huh?“ he whispered in Albert's ear, as he slowly tried to wiggle his fingers out of Albert's sleepy grip. Mycroft managed to do so, then he started to run his hand down Albert’s body and just before he was able to reach his cock, Albert stopped him by grabbing his hand and bringing it back up to hold against his chest.
"That's not the kind of sleep I meant, and you know it." Albert's voice was still sleepy but a little stronger than before.
"Mmm, yes, I know love. But can you blame me for trying?"
Albert was quiet for a while, so much so that Mycroft began to wonder if he had already fallen asleep. But then he hummed and whispered "Mmm, later. Sleep now."
Mycroft chuckled and kissed the nape of his neck again. "You wouldn't want to roll over so I can watch you fall asleep, would you?"
Albert let out a sigh. "Creeper." Then he shifted in Mycroft's arms to face him.
"If I am such a creeper, then why did you do what I asked?"
"’Cause you’re my creeper, My."
Mycroft smiled softly and leaned closer to kiss Albert's forehead. He hummed and tried to get in closer to Mycroft.
"That I am, Al, that I am,” he whispered as he stroked Albert's hair and ran his fingers through it. He continued to do so until Albert had fallen fast asleep, and only after did he finally close his own eyes to fall asleep himself.
