Chapter Text

"Long ago, men and beasts ruled the earth with love and peace. Then one day, came a war. The coexistence was no more. Beasts were sealed, underground. Locked away from the world around."

That was the tale told to everyone, young and old. Some didn't believe it, some did. My parents didn't believe it, but the random people on the street outside my house did. 

That was the tale my mother always tells me, I didn't believe in monsters, so I'm going to climb mt. SMP to prove it. Like the big man I am. 

I wasn't sure what I believed in, so I wanted to climb the mountain and found out.

The mountain was steep and a little hard to climb, but I was  determined  to get to the top. Or at least the cave that was near me. 

So that's why I'm climbing this kinda steep mountain, I spotted a cave that was close to me, I decided that would be a nice place to stop. 

When I reached the cave I decided to explore it. I walked further and further down the cave, "AAHHH!" I most definitely did not let out a girly scream as I tripped over a stick or something, that was until I didn't feel any impact, and I instead started to fall into darkness.

When I reached the cave I decided to walk around, which probably wasn't the best idea, seeing as I tripped moments later, I didn't stop falling.

My head hurt, really bad. Like I had just fallen on it. I opened my eyes and saw the sky. I gasped and sat up as I remembered what had happened.  

I was exploring the cave when I tripped and fell down a giant hole. I looked around. I had landed on a bed of buttercups. 

How had I survived?

How was I going to get out? 

Will I ever get out? 

I shook my head. Those questions could be answered later. For now, I needed to find out where I was. I stood up. I bent down and picked up a stick, for self-defense of course. 

I looked around and spotted an archway, I walked through the archway and spotted a strange creature. I could only assume it was a monster. 

Its anatomy confused me. Its upper legs and upper arms seemed to be missing but it was still standing up. It looked like a small goat person, its skin was pure white and fluffy, so was its hair. 

"Howdy!" I hear it yelled. I must have been observing it for too long. "I'm Schlatt,"

"I-I'm Ranboo," I stuttered.

"It's nice to meetcha, Ranboo, hmmm, you're new to the Underground, aren'tcha?" I nodded. "Golly, you must be so confused, someone ought to teach you how things work around here, I guess little old me will have to do, Ready? Here we go," 

A red and green heart appeared along with four buttons,  fight ,  act ,  item ,  mercy .

"You're soul, it shouldn't be, never mind," It cleared its throat. "See that heart? That's your soul, The very culmination of your being! Your soul starts weak but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV. What's LV stand for? Why LOVE of course! You want some LOVE, don't you? Don't worry! I'll share some with you! Down here, LOVE is shared through... Little gold... "Schlatt coins." Are you ready? Move around! Get as many as you can!"

Three gold coins appeared around me. Did I really want to trust it? I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. As the coins landed on me I found out that it did indeed hurt to try, it hurt very much. 

"You idiot! In this world, it's KILL or BE KILLED. Why would ANYONE pass up an opportunity like THIS!?" A circle of coins appeared around me. "Die!" The coins started to get closer and closer. They had almost touched me when. But then a ball of fire came and hit it and blasted it away. 

"What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth.."
