The child started jumping from one rock to another until she stopped to regain her balance. He almost rushed to her, worried she'd fall and hurt herself but she said, "I'm ok!", Before he could even take another step. He sighed when she finally turned to look at him. "Your parents would be mad at you get hurt." She pouted, staring up at the moving clouds as she fell to sit on her skirt.
"Mommy wouldn't like it but she'd tell me it's ok. She's kind and adventurous as I am."
"And your father?"
"I don't know. I never met him."
He frowned. "Your mother is taking care of you alone?"
"Well she's not alone! She has my uncles to help her out!"
"And they must be waiting for you to return home. Come, let me escort you to your house," he walked towards her, offering his gloved hand which she took without concern. "You think your mother is alright with you taking strangers' offers like mine?" She shrugged. "You don't look like you'd harm me," her golden doe eyes stared at him with innocence brimming out of it. He chuckled.
"Plus, your hair is beautiful! It's kinda like mine," she finally took off her hat, her bushy flock of crimson hair tied in a high ponytail came falling on her shoulders. "I never met someone with the same hair color as mine before!".
He froze, eyes shaking as he studied the crimson strands that fell on her face, and her golden eyes which triggers familiar memories he couldn't quite kick out of his mind at the moment. And her smile. Her smile that resembles her's.
He blinked.
"I'm sorry, you never mentioned your name."
"Oh, I'm Chrissy! What's your name?"
He gulped, choosing to look down at his shoes instead as he helped her up her feet.
"Diluc. Diluc Radnidv."
She laughed, catching his attention once more.
"That's funny, mother used to tell me stories of someone with the same name!"
