Work Text:

"I'm just saying, it's always the guy who gets to play and win something for the girl," Historia said.

"So?"

"So I want to change that." Reiner was amused by her proposition. As they walked, they came across a bottle toss booth. He decided to humor her.

"All right. How about here?" he asked gesturing to the booth. "Win me a stuffed animal."

Historia's eyes lit up with determination. "You're on!"

Reiner watched as she went up to the booth excitedly. "You get three tries, little missy," said the carny.

"Okay," she exhaled, "here we go!"

Her first try, she barely grazed the bottles. She hmphed audibly but she was determined to knock those bottles down. "You can do it!" Reiner cheered, visibly beaming. Her second shot wasn't any closer to hitting the bottles. She pouted as she held the last ball in her hands. She was set on proving a point and she really wanted to win him a stuffed animal. Plus, playing was fun.

She managed to knock one bottle with her last shot. The carny gave her a tiny prize as consolation. It was a phone charm of a plush brown bear with a green sweater.

Historia hopped with joy and proudly presented the prize to him. "Here you go, one brown bear," she giggled as she held up the bear to him. "He even looks like you."

Reiner smiled and gently took it from her hand. The green sweater even reminds him of a sweater she once knitted for him. Before he could even say anything, Historia had already pulled him onto the next booth.

Notes:

"Reiner keeps a lucky charm on him whenever he plays football."
