Summary
One of Megumi’s earliest memories is of his mother and her warning.
“They are called curses, and they look many different ways--the manner of which you don’t need to know. What you need to remember, beyond anything else, is never to go into the forest at night. And never ever cross the line of white sand and stone that cuts through the forest, no matter the time of day."
But when Tsumiki falls ill, he's forced to leave his home in search of a doctor who resides in the village at the base of the mountain. He has nothing but his father's old machete to contend with the curses, which seems to scare them off. Well, either that or it's the huge four-armed, four-eyed menace that's been stalking him through the woods.
He has to reach the village no matter what; his sister's life is on the line--and so is his. He has no time to worry about those terrible things that lie within the forest. Unfortunately, those things have all the time in the world to worry about him and what his flesh would taste like speared on their teeth.
