Last Friday Night

Summary:

There’s a stranger in his bed, a pounding in his head, glitter all over the room and pink flamingos in the pool.

Micah wakes up the morning after Glimmer and Bow’s wedding and is reminded of what he did the night before, which consists of drunken speeches and wads of $1 bills.

Notes:

I got an idea for a headcannon that Micah gets drunk out of his mind at weddings, and so, this fic was born.

Happy Father’s day, Enjoy! :D

Work Text:

Micah woke up in his bedroom at noon with a pounding headache, sore limbs, and money in his shorts? He was about to get up and try to find someone to ask what happened, when Glimmer burst in with coffee and hopefully an explanation.

“Good morning mister life of the party!”

“Mister who?”

He didn’t get an answer as his daughter waltzed past him and yanked open the curtains. Micah had to hold back a hiss when light filled the room.

“So you don’t remember what happened last night?” She said as she smirked.

Micah tried to sit up, but quickly gave up when it felt like his hip was about to snap under the pressure.

“The speech?”. Glimmer elaborated while giving him a knowing look. Suddenly, Micah remembered everything that happened last night.

It was late on the night of Glimmer and Bow’s wedding. The music was blaring and everyone was either dancing or standing around and talking to one another.

All of the heartfelt speeches were over, so everyone was just chilling out and enjoying themselves.

Glimmer and Bow were talking to Catra and Adora, when they suddenly heard a glass chiming.

The room's attention was guided towards Micah, who was the one chiming the glass. He was standing on a chair while holding onto Scorpia’s shoulder for balance.

“Your attention please, por favor, si’l vous plaît.” It was obvious to everyone in the room that Micah was drunk out of his mind, so once the room was silent, everyone braced themselves for the speech they knew was coming.

“Glimmer and Bow. Bow and Glimmer. Glimbow.” Bow smiled with pride, as he got everyone to use his self appointed ‘ship name’. “I look at you two best buds, and I smile. The first of the Princess Alliance to tie the knot! What an accomplishment. Bravo, bravo.” He started slow clapping.

Netossa used this moment as an opportunity to loudly clear her throat, which was met with a small giggle from the rest of the room.

Micah slowly stopped clapping. “Not including Netossa and Spinnerella. Spinnerella and Netossa. Spinnetossa. Ah yes, a beautiful marriage.”

Bow was delighted that the ship names were catching on. Micah stopped speaking for a good 30 seconds before receiving a nudge from Scorpia.

“Micah, Bow and Glimmer?”

Micah snapped out of his admiring gaze toward the first marriage of the Alliance and whipped his head to look at the newlyweds.

“YES! Back to the plan. When I look at your relationship, Glimbow, I can’t help but feel joy. Almost as much as I felt when I was on Beast Island and found a big bug and a safe place to eat it. Those were the days. I have a feeling your marriage will be slightly better than the cuisine of my former residence, as pookas won’t try to attack you when you’re finished. Maybe. That bug was pretty good.”

He let out a laugh which very quickly turned into a series of snorts.

“You know who you two lovebirds remind me of? Me and Angie”

Glimmer and Bow both let a sad smile spread on their faces. Maybe this speech was going somewhere. (It wasn’t)

“Micah and Angella. Angella and Micah. Angellah. Wait no, BOW I NEED SOME HELP HERE.”

Micah was now shouting to Bow, who was occupied thinking of a ship name for the former king and queen of Brightmoon. Suddenly it hit him.

“MICANGELLA?!”

Micah threw a celebratory fist in the air Breakfast Club style.

“I KNEW GLIMMER MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE, now, where was I, ah yes. That night was incredible. Especially after the reception when we ma-”

He fell into Scorpia’s arms as his storytelling got a bit too physical for his lack of balance. Everyone was silently celebrating, as they didn’t want to hear the rest of that story.

“AHH. I mean, ahhy can’t wait to see how this marriage turns out. Peace out from the official dad of the Princess Alliance.” Micah then proceeded to drop the non existent microphone that he was apparently using for the speech. “Mic-ah Drop” he said as he snapped his fingers in a sassy triangle while cocking his hip.

The speech left the couple in stitches, and the bartender regretting serving alcohol to the former King of Brightmoon.

Glimmer, Bow, Catra and Adora looked at each other, and burst out laughing. They continued their previous conversation until the DJ started the music again, and ‘Istanbul’ started to play.

The Best Friend Squad stopped their conversion when they saw Glimmer’s face light up.

“Sparkles, you good?”

Glimmer didn’t respond, but instead pointed towards the dance floor. They all turned around at the same time, and their jaws simultaneously dropped. In the middle of the dance floor, break dancing was Micah.

The silence was quickly replaced by cheers, because what else do you do when the official dad of the Princess Alliance starts busting a move? Maybe pull out a wad of ones and start throwing (which did happen (shout-out to Seahawk)).

When the song came to an end, the DJ replayed it and Micah started once again, while shouting, “ANOTHER ROUND OF THE BEAST ISLAND BOOGIE!”

This continued for the rest of the night, with ‘The Beast Island Boogie’ consisting of Breakdancing, Fortnite dances and a bit of 70’s disco dancing.

Micah groaned as everything came back to him.

Glimmer giggled and handed him the coffee. “You should probably drink that, lots of water and-”

She was cut off by Micah laughing at her efforts and was about to lay into him, but didn’t get the chance when she was met with “Honey, do you really think this is my first time getting blackout drunk at a party?”

The surprise was evident on Glimmer’s face as soon as the words left Micah’s mouth. Before she could ask, he was telling.

“Yeah, mine and Angie’s wedding was pretty wild.”

“Wait, what happened at your wedding?”

“A lot of the same stuff, except I didn’t have a name for my sick dance moves.”

Glimmer laughed as she walked out of the room. She was met by Bow who was concerned for the former king, but got a rundown of the conversation that the two just shared.

He laughed as he took Glimmer’s hand and led her to the dining hall for breakfast.
