Work Text:
Dominic, a journalist: "How much longer are you staying in the UK then?"
Nicky: "I fly out tonight."
Journalists keep on asking about Nicky's private life and Joe, but Nicky's answers are elusive because he doesn't want to talk about Joe.
Andy, Nicky's PR boss, points at Joe: "The gentleman in the black polo."
Joe: "Yes, Mr. Di Genova, are there any circumstances in which you two might be more than just friends?"
Andy elbows discreetly Nicky to get him back to reality, and it is there Nicky sees who it is asking a question.
Nicky: "I hoped there might be, but no, I'm assured there aren't."
Joe: "And what would you say?"
Andy: "It's just one question per person."
Nicky: "No, let him ask away. You were saying? "
Joe: "Yes, I just wondered whether if it turned out that this person…"
The journalist to Joe's right: "His name is Joe Al-Kaysani."
Joe: "Thanks. I just wondered if Mr Al-Kaysani realized he'd been a daft prick and got down on his knees and begged you to reconsider, whether you would reconsider. "
Joe does get down on his knees in the middle of the crowd to Nicky's big surprise.
Nicky: "Yes, I'm pretty sure I would."
Joe: "That's very good news. The readers of 'Horse and Hound' will be absolutely delighted. "
Nicky whispers something to Andy before he looks at Joe.
Andy: "Dominic, if you'd like to ask your question again?"
Dominic: "How much longer are you staying in the UK then?"
Nicky keeps on looking at Joe.
Nicky: "Indefinitely."
Joe and Nicky both smile at each other, and when Nicky runs down from the podium, Joe stands up, and as they kiss, it's to the sound of Joe's friends, who are cheering, whistling, and clapping, while Andy tries her best to control the press, who asks questions about what just happened.
Dominic: "Andy? Is he getting married?"
Andy: "We will send a press release tomorrow at 10 am."
Nicky whispers something to Andy before kissing Joe again.
Andy: "I meant at noon!"
Booker, who has been parking the car and has missed out on everything, looks at Nile, who hugs him.
Booker: "What happened?"
Nile: "It was good."
