Work Text:
Gojo wasn’t really one who thought of himself as a parental role.
Sure, he’s great with kids and all that, but being a father in any sort of way had never really grabbed his attention.
Well, that was until he met Yuji and Nobara.
Of course, he fathered Fushiguro Megumi from back when he was a young boy, but Megumi had been the only he ever did father. He was used to the boy’s silence and gloomy expression. It was normal for Gojo, considering the fact that he dealt with it for years.
So fathering two 15 year olds that were nothing like Megumi was very new to him. Nobara was an outgoing and wonderful girl with a stern personality and a sharp look. She may act rude a good percentage of the time, but she actually has soft spots for those she cares for. She loves to go shopping (Quite literally. He’s shocked that he doesn’t have a hole in his credit card by now). She is a bright girl who is smart and can take down a curse one grade higher than her all by herself.
Yuji was a very eccentric and outgoing kid. He matched Gojo’s entire personality, basically an exact replica of himself in one way or another. He always thought of others more than himself, which was good but could lead to him not even caring about his own health sometimes. He always did his best to make sure those around him were happy.
To say the very least, this was new to him.
He did love them in a fatherly way, he really did. They also knew just how to make him laugh to the point where he has tears in his eyes.
And he was more happy with the fact that Megumi felt comfortable around them. If he hadn’t, then he would’ve distanced the two from the emo boy. He would find a way to spend time with the other two away from Megumi.
What surprised him was how inseparable the three are. When even one of them was away, the other two would grow kind of sad and not be talking as much. Megumi seemed a lot happier around them, even though they could be too rambunctious for his gloom personality, he still enjoyed their company over other’s.
Nobara was the mother kind of figure to the two, but in a sort of aggressive way (She would always yell at them for skipping out on meals or accidentally hurting themselves and telling them to be more careful). Megumi was the one who kept the two in check. Even with Nobara’s excessive yelling, he always made sure they were safe. Yuji was the sunshine of the group. He always knew how to make them happy when they were in a bad mood, and he even paid very close attention to their likes and dislikes.
Gojo couldn’t have asked for better kids to father.
He did love them very much, more than he loved himself.
Which earned him the nickname “Gojo dad” from Nanami (which was originally a joke, but he took a liking to it).
There was one day where Yuji had accidentally called him dad. Gojo had never been happier. He felt tears brimming in his eyes from pure joy before he knew it (Great thing he had his blindfold on or else it would’ve been very embarrassing).
Gojo had tackled him into a hug not even five minutes later.
So to say the very least, he cared for these kids as if they were his own.
And he’d do anything to make them happy.
Anything.
