Shane lets out a small laugh as he rolls his eyes, “Yours preferably.”or, that time Shane and Ilya decide to have a baby.

Summary
One moment Shane was dancing with Rose, leaning into her touches and almost, almost feeling relaxed, normal. They moved to the music playing loudly through the club and looked at each other, smiling, as Rose slid a hand under his t-shirt playfully.
The next moment, however, he glanced up for just a second and everything seemed to come falling down. The other people in the club disappeared, becoming background noise as he saw it.
A few meters away, Ilya was dancing with a blonde girl.

Summary
Shane recovered at his parents’ house. For once, he didn’t watch any hockey games after the Metros were knocked out of the playoffs. He knew it baffled his mom, but how was he supposed to tell her that the only thing he wanted to do while watching was analyze and pick apart the plays with Ilya fucking Rozanov — the man who had eviscerated his heart?
Some days Shane felt so empty he didn’t know if he even cared about hockey anymore. That always sent him spiraling into a panic, because how could he not care about hockey?
All Shane Hollander was supposed to care about was hockey.

Summary
Zane Boodram makes a goal and cameras show his wife Cassie clapping and screaming for him. Later, towards the beginning of the second period, Ilya makes his own goal and Shane can’t help but think of the camera panning over to show him cheering for Ilya in the stands.
He could picture it so clearly. Sitting with the other partners, cheering for their boys, Shane wearing a Centaurs jersey with ROZANOV 81 plastered across his back. He thinks about how happy he’s felt these past few months, and it mingles with need for his vision to be reality, and just like that the thought is finally pulled front and center in his mind with no way to ignore it.
Almost as soon as he thinks it, his decision is made and he starts forming his plan.

“Well, they had pretty good steak, but I don’t know if they’d have anything you would like,” Hayden says, and kicks off his shoes. He falls onto his bed with a contented sigh, then looks over at Shane, who hasn’t said anything yet. “Shane? You good?”
Shane means to say he’s fine, but what comes out instead is: “Rose is having a baby.”
Hayden sits up abruptly.
“Whoa,” he says. “You’re serious?”
“Yeah,” says Shane. “She just called me. She took three tests.”
“Been there, brother,” says Hayden, his eyes wide. Shane puts his head in his hands again.

A few weeks after Rose and Shane split up, Rose discovers that she's pregnant. Overwhelmed by the prospect of fatherhood, Shane puts off confronting Ilya about his feelings, and they never hook up at the All-Stars Game. They find their way back to each other anyway.
