Chapter Text
“Long ago, two races ruled over the SMP: Humans and Monsters. One day, war broke out between the two races. After a long battle, the humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell. Legend says those who climb up Mount Twitch Prime never return.”
The young boy scoffed at the faded words etched out on a lopsided sign. His wild blonde hair blew in the wind as he stood in the middle of the woods where the beginnings of Mount Twitch Prime began to slope up into mountainous terrain. Night was beginning to fall and coupled that with the dangerous legends told at campires any normal kid would be running scared back to their mommy or daddy. Yet this was no normal boy.
“You hear that! Nothing scares this big man! I’m Tommy and nothing will stand in the way of me and the top of this mountain!” A slew of other courses with the blonde’s mouth as he began to race his way over tree roots and branches zooming his way to the peak. No matter what anyone said he was a great big important man. After being the only kid to not be chicken enough to touch the top, everyone would respect him and his manliness. Even if his heart beat a little faster as the distance between him and his house became larger and larger, it didn’t matter; he had to grab a special tree branch or no one would really believe he had been here.
Pulling the bandanna closer to his face in response to the chill, Tommy slowed to a walk as he finally managed to reach the clearing of where the trees grew. In the dark, he managed to spot the dark wood of the spruce branch.
“Ha and they said this would be hard. Not to a big man like me.” He exclaimed to no one. Reaching out the boy wrapped his hand around the sturdy branch before the world fell under him. A loud scream pierced the air but after that there was nothing but the silence of the forest.
“Shit! Shit shit!” Tommy cursed, rubbing his head as he blearily sat up. How rude was the mountain to just push him down into a hole? Surprisingly, the deep cavern that he fell into was lit up by seemingly nothing. Pulling himself to his feet, Tommy looked towards the ground where a pile of green flowers had cushioned his fall. He strained his eyes up trying to look for the hole where he had fallen but there seemed to be nothing there but the dark abyss.
With no other choice, the boy gripped his branch tightly and began to follow the open cavern. There had to be some sort of exit to this place and he better find it fast. Who knows what would happen to him if he didn’t make it home till morning time. As he turned the corner of the never ending cavern, a green flower sat in the open area. Unlike the other flowers, this one sat up tall. It made no sense how a flower could survive in conditions like this. Tommy was no english major but he did know basic science. Any thoughts of science left the boy’s mind as voice filled the cavern.
“Hello friend!” The green flower asked. Looking closer now, Tommy could see a wide smile and eyes on the flower’s face.
“What the fuck! You can talk! I’m not on drugs am I?” He screamed before breaking out into nervous laughter. Maybe that fall was more dangerous than he thought.
“Don’t be scared! My name is Dream and I’ll be your friend down here. You must be new down here but I’ll teach you everything you need to know.” Tommy looked skeptically at the flower. It had been weird to talk to a flower at first but now he was just wondering why a flower would try to befriend him of all people.
“Here let me show you how everything works down here.” Time seemed to freeze as his chest grew heavy. Looking down, a panicked shout left the boy at the appearance of a red heart in his chest. “You see that there is your soul! That is who you are and it can grow stronger through Love! Here let me give you some love”
Tommy let out a laugh at that. “Through love? What is this some sort of clingy friendship? I don’t need that I’m a big man.”
A white pellet appeared and zoomed towards Tommy but the blonde boy slid out of the way, another choking laugh breaking out of his chest. “I make my own drugs, thank you very much.” An annoyed look crossed the flower’s face but before the boy could analyze it any further it was gone.
Another white pellet flashed in the air and came towards him again. Wanting this to all be over as quickly as possible, Tommy stood still and let the “love” hit him. A wave of pain filled his body as he dropped down to his knees.
“You IDIOT! Down here, it's Kill or be Killed and you just make the biggest mistake of all time!” More white pellets filled the air and Tommy cursed himself for trusting anyone who said that they were showing him love. He should be no better by now.
Before the pellets hit his body though, a flash of feathers flew through the air and hit Dream away.
“Hey! You should know better than to pick on some little kid” The heaviness in his chest seemed to fall away as the flower left the vicinity. In front of him stood a man or what would have been a man if feathers hadn’t covered the entire body with two large black wings extending from the back.
“Aww mate are you okay? The name is Philza, don’t worry I’ll watch out for any monsters for ya.”
