50.000 Feet Above The Clouds

Summary:

Keiji may be in the astonishing place of the world right now, but with Koutarou by his side, arms wrapped around each other, he feels like he's 50.000 feet above the clouds.

Work Text:

It's an early flight. Waking up at 2 in the morning has been a shocking habit for him throughout the years of undesirable training. He puts on some work, tapping a few powder and foundation on his face, a few final-touches, then Keiji turns to look at himself in the mirror. His cheeks are pink, his nose is soft, his eyebrows are pointed (they really bring out the color of his eyes), and his lips... Keiji may have felt himself burning by the color of matte lipstick he decidedly chose for his make-up today.

Truthfully, Keiji was never the person who'd put effort in his make-up for his job. Being a flight attendant has its perks, learning to do art on his face to make him look appropriate for the passengers is one of them. Some would flirt, some would compliment, and a few of them charms him. With the tight dark blue pencil skirt and a tight vest that curves each side of his body, Keiji feels like he's in ecstasy. Despite the dangerous look, mainly from men, Keiji does enjoy swinging his hips while walking through the aisle of the aircraft.

Today is different. The effort he puts so much in is because he recognized the first Captain who will fly the airplane this morning - The pilot he has an ugly, humongous, childish crush on. The way the Captain would smugly use the speaker closer to his plump pink lips for direction, height, time-lapse announcements, and his introduction as their pilot. Last night, Keiji's eyes widened when he's finally in the same plane as his crush. A 10 hour flight with a man he's been crushing on? How can Keiji refuse? The effort in his make-up might be the sign why he wanted to be acknowledged by the Captain of the sky.

Outside perspective might think that Keiji's effort is too much, how could Captain Bokuto Koutarou see him if he puts too much lipstick? A wave of anxiety washes over him before he could hesitate. That's right , the flight attendant thought. How would Bokuto-san talk to me if I looked like this? He should have thought about this beforehand, because he's far too late to redo his make-up since he should be checking out from his temporary stay in the airport hotel and get a move on to the airplane he should be in.

Keiji puts aside his thoughts before standing up, glancing in the mirror one last time, then deciding that he looks rather ravishing for today's flight. Despite being anxious, Keiji nods to himself as if he's assuring himself that he looks okay, at least he looks decent for his job.

A moment after his preparation, Keiji is now walking elegantly through the cold airport. The smell of aircraft and the sound of wheels of suitcases are like music to Keiji's ears, he smiles whenever he sees a group of family being excited to have a family trip. He has always wanted to travel with someone special other than visiting a foreign country by himself. He wonders what that feels like.

"Akaashi Keiji," he announces to the security guard at the boarding gate where his scheduled plan should be. He already joined with a group of other flight attendants, but they are already far ahead since they're basically friends already except for Akaashi.

"Good morning!" The security greets him with a big smile. Too happy for this early morning. "You know where you're going, right?"

"Yes," Keiji nods, fixing his heels once in a while because they sometimes loose a bit around his slim feet. With a polite smile, he grabbed his passport and went to his plane.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw the pilots were still hanging out outside the plane. They are laughing with hot cups of coffee, talking about god knows what. But Keiji felt helpless when he noticed Captain Bokuto with his tight white shirt, a tie placed neatly around his neck to his front. He hasn't worn his suit yet, he hung them on his arm while his other hand is holding his suitcase. The hat he supposedly be wearing is under his armpits, allowing his freshly-showered hair and gelled to welcome any co-workers before they warm up the plane. If looks could kill, Keiji might think his heart is weakening by the lone sight of the Captain.

Bokuto-san still looks nice despite the lack of effort in it. Keiji almost whined when he thought about the make-up he's putting on. Now he wishes he checks himself before getting into the plane this morning.

The pilots catch sight of him before giving him a wave and a nod, not knowing if that's for a greeting or for a good morning wish. Before Keiji walked inside, his eyes met those bright golden eyes who smiled a thousand times brighter than the sun. He hides his face by walking faster to the plane, Keiji almost breaks down because his face turned crimson red just by seeing the sight of Captain Bokuto in his pilot uniform.

This is ridiculous , Keiji thought. He shouldn't be thinking this way towards the Captain, he should be professional as a flight attendant. Besides, there is no possibility of a flight attendant and a pilot to be together. Especially on the same airline. That would put the company's reputation in risk. But the feeling deep within his heart betrays his rational thought. Again, how could he refuse to not love him?

"Keiji-san," the flight attendant turned around to his colleague before sending his friend a warm smile.

"Hello, Kiyoomi-san. How are you?" The other flight attendant, who's wearing a similar uniform like Keiji except with black slim stocking thigh high, shrugged before helping him with the clean up from the previous night of the flight.

"I'm alright. I see Captain Bokuto-san will be the pilot for today's flight," Kiyoomi smirks as he notices the pink shades on Keiji's cheeks.

Between thousands of flight attendants in this airline, and a few friends Keiji considered as his mutual friend, only Kiyoomi sees the obvious sign of Keiji's interest in Captain Bokuto Koutarou. The first time he noticed the sign was when Koutarou was introduced as the exchange pilot from Fukuro to the MSBY airline, he's positioned as the first Captain with three bars on his shoulders. The look on Keiji's face was priceless, his eyes were gleaming and his ears turned to pink. By the simple expression from Keiji's face, Kiyoomi knows that he indeed sees the pilot more than just his colleague.

"He looks lovely," Keiji blushed at his bold thought, biting his lower lip to stop himself looking unpleasant for his job.

"I bet he does," Kiyoomi smiles. "Why don't you try and speak to him? He usually gives a brief announcement before letting the passengers board. Some kind of warning or something,"

"He still does that?" Very responsible , is it possible for Keiji to fall for the perfect pilot than he already is?

"Yes, it could be your chance," Chance is such a nice word to reassure him that maybe the opportunity for Keiji to slide closer is there despite the thin walls.

He's in his late 20s, Captain Bokuto might already be putting a ring on someone he's going to spend the rest of his days with, and Keiji would likely be just a secret admirer to him. Besides, when you genuinely love someone, you've become someone you don't recognize. Keiji has always been a stoic but a nice person, both in and outside of his job. Being a flight attendant is also his chance to get money, hearing Captain Bokuto become a pilot might be just a boost for him to get closer.

However, he's content with this way. Admiring his crush from afar, he's very happy living this way. If by the end that Koutarou is engaged to a pretty lady, then Keiji would think the girl is very lucky to have a husband like Bokuto Koutarou. He's beautiful, funny, muscular, talented, and responsible for his actions. Then Keiji would forever become his secret admirer, attending his crush's wedding, and watching him having a family with his wife like a movie.

Keiji blinked his eyes when he noticed just how far his train of thoughts brought him.

First of all, there's no ring on his finger. Second of all, neither Koutarou nor any of his friends confirmed anything about his love life. If it's confirmed, usually the airline gives the pilot a new option to choose their route for domestic or international flight. The consideration goes fairly the same for flight attendants, and Keiji hasn't seen or heard about Captain Bokuto changing his route. So far, he's been using the same route since his first flight. That very first flight that Keiji barely could behave himself because, let’s admit it, having a crush and working with the same man you've been in love with is harder than working with an enemy.

Another 3 minutes passed by, the 6 flight attendants were called to gather in front of the cockpit. There, he saw Captain Bokuto who's now already wearing the suit properly, but the hat is left behind somewhere yet made him still look very handsome. Keiji almost felt his heart beating out of his ribcage despite his eyes being farther than the other flight attendants who are standing right under Captain Bokuto's nose.

"Good morning! I'm Bokuto Koutarou, I'll be your pilot for today. This is your co-pilot, Miya Atsumu. He's joining our flight today. In case you've forgotten, we'll be flying to Peru. It's a 10 hour flight with approximately 750 passengers. Food and snacks are loaded right now along with our stuff. Oh! There's no transit for today's flight, I hope you're aware of that," Koutarou grins, and Keiji's heart throbs. "Is there any question?"

When silence is an agreement that everyone understands, the Captain then smiles. "Alright! Passengers are boarding at 6, we'll fly at 7! Please come to me if there's any questions. Let's have a wonderful flight together!"

Everyone dispersed, returning to what they were doing, except for Keiji who stood there - fidgeting his fingers. Koutarou was about to turn around to enter the cockpit but he stops when he sees one flight attendant didn't return to his task. Keiji was deep in his thoughts to realize that he's the only remaining flight attendant that stood there with his head low. Koutarou scratched the back of his head before approaching the man.

"Can I help you?" The pilot asks, making Keiji jump out of his world.

"Oh! Bokuto-san!" He blushed when he raised an eyebrow. "I-I mean, Cap-Captain Bokuto! My apologies, I'll... I'll make myself out,"

"Umm, Akaashi? Your name is Akaashi, right?" Keiji cursed as he felt his face hot. He slowly turned around with a bashful look.

"Ye-yes," Keiji nods. "My apologies, Captain Bokuto. I'll make sure to keep myself awake. I might be tired. I won't be zoning out anymore than this,"

Koutarou smiles. "That's a relief. Also, if you have a lot on your mind, I suggest you take a break. We can talk later if you'd like,"

"Thank you," Keiji bows before pacing up to his post. He glares at Kiyoomi who gives him a side smirk while cleaning up a few seats.

The sun's rising by the time the passengers are boarding. Keiji and Kiyoomi, who are responsible for the front gate, welcome all the strangers who paid thousands of money to fly with this plane. With their palm hands against each like a buddha prayer, they bow their heads with a polite smile. If they ask about the number of seats, they happily help them to their seats before returning back to greet them. With these heels, Keiji's feet are already trained to stand gracefully with a beautiful smile. A few teenagers thought Keiji looks a bit younger to be working as a flight attendant, but they didn't have the courage to inquire while the gun-mental eyed lad sent him a smile.

Nothing's bothering him until one particular person arrives. As always, Keiji bowed, this time without Kiyoomi because he's helping a family of 6 to get on their seats. The man is wearing a thick brown jacket and darker brown jeans, neatly boots. He's wearing funny glasses but Keiji isn't the one to comment where he's starting to have the need to wear glasses sometimes late at night. At first, the man only looks at Keiji from the tip of his curls to the black heels he's wearing - his eyes widened by the slim and smooth legs that Keiji had by the short pencil skirt he's wearing.

"Welcome to MSBY Airline. How may I help you?" When the passenger didn't move along, Keiji decided to inquire like a good flight attendant he is.

"Actually, I might need to...," He smiled, creepily, as he eyed his legs.

Keiji felt annoyed but was still trying to look as polite as possible, sometimes he thought wanting to feel beautiful feels like a crime these days. He is uncomfortable by the way this man is looking at him way too much. His eyes change in different places on Keiji's body, from the way he's eyeing his red lips to the slim sides of his curves. When he got closer to him, the gun-mental eyed lad was alarmed by the movement and was about to tell the passenger to move but he tripped over his own heels.

He was expecting to fall unattractively to the ground if it weren't for the strong arms that held his waist and arm, preventing him from hitting the floor.

"Whoa! Is everything okay?" Keiji's eyes widened when he saw the least person who shouldn't be here. Koutarou's eyes were warm on Keiji's gun-mental eyes, but then he moved towards the passenger before helping the flight attendant up. "Can I help you, good sir?"

Seeing how athletic Koutarou must have looked, the passenger felt intimidated before muffling some words under his breath while walking to his seat. Keiji remembered the number of his seat, and decided to make sure to give some caution for his colleagues later. Because he likes the way Koutarou's hand is still resting on his small back. The feel of his hand makes Keiji's face burn up with embarrassment mixed with flutteration.

"You okay?" The voice of the Captain causes his heart to leap. He nodded, he doesn't trust his voice for answering his question. Captain Bokuto then smiles at the reassurance, "Okay. Tell me if he's bothering you again,"

Is it his voice? Or is it the way his hand leaves him? Because the moment Keiji turned around to face the pilot, he's already entering the cockpit. There is a hidden rule for pilots to be prohibited waiting around the front gate area because they are supposed to be working with the engine of the plane, making sure everything is in place and ready to fly. That was why when Keiji found him lingering here, he felt like he's the one who's breaking the rule. The pilot is the brain of the flying aircraft, therefore they have the rights to walk around if needed.

But his heart is betraying him once again. When Koutarou left, Keiji frowned because he wanted him to reassure him again. He's being too clingy for someone whom he has thin chance with, not even close to 50%. If this stupid feelings of him won't fade away soon, it'll take an affect for his career reputation or worse, the head of the airline might need to transfer him to another airline because of his ludicrous behavior as a flight attendant. As a cherry on top, Keiji might never be able to see Bokuto Koutarou ever again except from the screen of his phone.

While waiting for take off, Keiji is already busy making sure a passenger who is nauseous by the smell of the plane gets treated and a crying baby would stop crying because it will be bad for their hearing if they didn't stop. Also, teenagers who are still using their gadgets are warned to switch it off for the next 10 hour flight. His job is followed by the stubborn passenger who keeps saying that they need to grab something in their bags but Keiji tells them that they need to fasten their seatbelts because the plane is about to take off.

After a few calls and announcement from the pilots that they are ready to fly, all flight attendants and passengers are quiet as the plane took off. The view from the small round window is now the sight of the pretty yellow and white clouds by the reflection of the sun rising. Keiji checked the time and noticed the time is now 8 in the morning, no delays or whatsoever. He smiled before resting his eyes for 5 minutes because they won't be able to unlock their seatbelts until the pilots confirm they will.

Soon enough it was the time for lunch, Keiji pulled the cart filled with lunch boxes through the aisle as he put the food in order. He also put requested drinks for the passengers to enjoy the flight. Other of his colleagues took over his charge when he was called by co-pilot Miya Atsumu request for a drink. Since he doesn't get the exact information of what type of drinks he wanted him to get, hence he needed to enter the cockpit area despite a flight attendant being prohibited to do so.

Entering a cockpit is a bit different than how you imagined. There's a code for him to enter, a special code and keys (for emergencies), then they will get confirmation from the Captain whether they are allowed or not. Luckily, Keiji got his authorization to enter faster than the times he spent flying with other pilots. He greets them softly, closing the door behind him before walking further inside. Since the sun was already up in the sky, the bright breeze morning sun shone through the windows which caused them to wear special sunglasses. Co-pilot Miya is busy calculating the amount of oxygen in the plane while verifying the height of the plane presently.

"Co-Pilot Miya," Keiji announces his existence. "Miss. Anand informed me that you need me?"

"Oh, yes! Can you bring us two cups of coffee for Bokuto and I, please?" Miya smiled, his eyes hiding behind the dark sun glasses he's wearing.

"Of course," Keiji noted. "Anything else?"

It was a mistake when Keiji turned his head toward the Captain. Koutarou's eyebrows were furrowed, his lips were slightly pouting as he constantly checked for any changes in the machine. He is blinded by either the sunglasses or the sun to notice two pairs of eyes staring at him, until co-pilot Miya nudged him a little to catch his attention. The Captain nods his head to wait, his eyes glancing left-right and up-down until he feels safe to turn his head towards the flight attendant. When their eyes met, Keiji's heart soared.

"Coffee's fine," he said, while clearing his throat.

"What'd you like to have for lunch?" Keiji asked.

"Whatever we have. Everything's fine for me," Koutarou flashes him a smile. "Have you eaten lunch yet?"

The question made Keiji blushed before bashfully shaking his head, a small smile betrayed him from looking professional in front of the brain of the plane. The Captain smiles sadly, he looks handsome with sunglasses and the sun is agreeing with him - letting it kiss his skin like feathers. The sun makes Koutarou look like he's born for the sky, cutting through the clouds and passing by some storms to say 'hi!'. He looks irresistible, even Keiji couldn't help but smile at the luminous man. Such a beautiful smile.

"Don't forget to eat lunch, okay? We have a long flight," his voice was soft and full of concern. How could Keiji refuse such a warning? Especially from Bokuto Koutarou? The flight attendant with gleaming gun-mental eyes smiled, nodding his head before returning to his post to prepare for the pilots food.

The food is nowhere near as good as the airport's dish but this is as delicious as it gets. Keiji's father once booked a flight to see his son, and he told him that the food is better than nothing at all. Besides, they did pay a lot for a simple dish. As long as it fills their hungry stomach, everything would be fine.

When Keiji went back to give their lunch, Koutarou was too busy to even glance at him. His sunglasses are still on but his focus is a million times farther than Keiji who stands there and watches him. He sometimes wonders what it feels like to be able to talk to him normally without getting interrupted by the rapid beat from his heartbeat. It must be nice to have a decent conversation with Bokuto Koutarou, Keiji notices the amount of group friends he has from his social media account. He seems very friendly.

A kid threw up, a man asked for a refund for the missing magazine (which Keiji solved the issue by giving him a new magazine), a teenager accidentally got stuck in the bathroom, and an old grandfather doesn't know how to use the small tv in front of him. It was a hellish job as a flight attendant, especially when you suddenly become their personal nurse in the sky. Regardless, Keiji enjoys his job. The skirts make him pretty, the make-up makes him stand out among beautiful ladies in lines, and he always gets paid well to enjoy his private vacation. A wonderful job has always had its perks, one of Keiji's perks is having his crush in the same airline and there's nothing he can do about it.

Before the sun set, Keiji's soft voice filled the passengers' seat as he told them that they have passed the timezone so the feeling of dizziness is reasonable. Then, they prepared dinner. As time passed, everyone started to feel tired from the long flight. According to the small tv and GPS, they should arrive in Peru in 3 hours. It's enough time for a deep slumber if necessary.

While checking throughout the aisle, Keiji found a young boy fell asleep uncomfortably on his seat. The parents have gone to sleep as well, meaning the boy has stayed up a little longer before unconsciously drifting into the underworld. The sight makes Keiji softly giggle before putting on the blanket and tucking the boy gently.

"Are we there yet?" He asked with a groggy voice, assuming the one who tucked him is his mother.

The gun-mental eyed lad smiled fondly before shaking his head. "We're still very far. You can take a rest now, I'll make sure to wake you up before landing so you won't miss it,"

"Okay. Thank you," the boy yawned. "You're very pretty,"

"Thank you," This kid will go anywhere with that pure compliment. "Go back to sleep,"

The night sleeps in, the passengers seem to be content by the soft engine humming and the plane softly brings them to their destination. For a second, Keiji could stop and breathe. He carefully moved his legs to the cabin for him to rest his feet. Wearing heels for 7 hours is tiring and painful, let alone he had to walk back and forth in the plane. It’s like he’s been walking over spikes for the last 4 hours.

The night is dark, yet the stars are visible to his naked eyes. The clear view for a stargazing over 50 thousand feet above the surface makes his heart feel like it beats faster than it should. He is thankful to be working in this profession, where he can be friends with both the sun and the moon, talking about the stars and daydreaming about the time when they'll land.

Suddenly, the Captain exits his cockpit with a tired expression. He lets out a yawn before pouring himself another coffee that the Kiyoomi had prepared for everyone if needed. A 10 hour flight might sound like it's a boring journey, however it's a frustrating and exhausting one for people like Koutarou. Unlike pilots, flight attendants actually take shifts to patrol over 750 passengers in one plane. Therefore, seeing Koutarou outside of his cockpit surprises Keiji. He stands up and bows the tired pilot who just smiled drowsily at him.

"Such a long night, huh?" Koutarou starts as he pours two cups of coffee, Keiji assumes one is for co-pilot Miya.

"It is," Keiji blushes, shifting a little uncomfortable on his seat. "How are you, Captain?"

"Nothing a coffee can't fix," he chuckles softly. Out of the ordinary, he gave the coffee to him.

"Oh, thank you very much," Keiji doesn't really drink coffee, but he accepts nevertheless.

"You're welcome," He then took a seat next to Keiji as the smell of coffee beans filled his nostril, he sighed before happily sipping the hot coffee. "Say, have you been flying with MSBY for a long time?"

"I have. This is my 5th year, actually," Keiji's heart skipped a beat when he saw the pearl of Koutarou's teeth despite the lack of energy,

"Hey, it's my 6th year today! We're not that far behind, huh?" The pilot smiles. "How are you liking it so far? Flying with me, I mean,"

Flying with him? Keiji never presses a question similar to that. Having Koutarou as his pilot for today's trip is actually everything he wishes upon the star, nothing else really matters to him as long as he can hear his voice - just be near to him. Now that he asked, Keiji never really thought about it that far. How does he feel about flying with Bokuto Koutarou? How can he answer such a difficult question? His brain can barely comprehend the idea of being in the same plane as him, let alone his fleeting thoughts about flying with him.

"I... Umm...," Keiji shifts once again, keeping his legs closed as elegantly as he could. "It's... It's been a wonderful flight. You fly this aircraft with so much care. I don't think there's any complaints from the passengers so-,"

"Oh, I was asking you, personally," Koutarou flashes him a warm smile. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable with my ride, you know? Gotta make sure that you feel as comfortable as I do,"

If red isn't the color of his blood, Keiji might look stupid right now. "Ca-Captain Bokuto, I-I believe you've been a splendid pilot. Nonetheless, I think your study for flying this aircraft is... Is as careful as ever,"

"You think so?" There was a glint of hope in his golden eyes when Keiji stole a glance at him.

"Ye-yes," Keiji tugged his curl behind his ear. "I-Is there a problem?"

"I guess not. I mean, since you said you think I'm flying this thing fine," Koutarou rested his back, his thigh now touching Keiji's bare skin. Oh, he's very warm.

"I think you're a wonderful pilot, Bokuto-san," The pilot smiled at the compliment, Keiji smiled back bashfully before looking at his untouched cup of coffee. The way he smiles at him makes him feel like he wants to shower Koutarou with all the compliments in the world. He deserves all the praises if it means he gets to see that beautiful smile.

"Then, I think you're very pretty, Akaashi," His poor and fragile heart may not be able to take that, not when it's beating painfully into his chest.

All the compliments he received along the years are mostly because he physically looks pretty, but it's different when Koutarou said it to him. Something behind his flirtatious comment doesn't sound like someone trying to use a pick-up line, but it's more like Koutarou has discovered a different side of Keiji that he finds them endearing. The compliment from Koutarou is genuine and out of purity, they are real and charms Keiji in the way. How long does it take for someone to take his breath away by a simple compliment?

Keiji is speechless, he keeps tugging his curls behind his ear to avoid Koutarou's fond look. After all this, how can he face his own crush who calls him pretty? How is he going to look him in the eye and tell him that he needs to be professional? This is a pilot and a flight attendant relationship! They are in the same airline! Isn't it an illicit rule for their relationship to happen?

Is Koutarou trying to bring Keiji's hope up so that he can tear them apart? No, Koutarou is an amazing man. All the descriptions he wrote in his heart will be held very dearly to prove his point that Bokuto Koutarou is different.

"Are you going to stay in Peru a little longer?" Koutarou suddenly asked.

Keiji smiled before turning his head to him. "If I say yes, are you going to ask me out?"

"Even better," The golden eyed lad leaned closer to him, Keiji could smell the cologne near his neck. It's a wonderful smell, and fits Koutarou's personality. "There's a nice beach in Peru known as Máncora. I would love it even more if you would go on a date with me there,"

"So straightforward," Keiji giggles, his face still red. "How would you know I'd say yes?"

"Just a hunch," Koutarou shrugs, chuckling when Keiji leans closer with the prettiest smile. "When I knew you were on Kuroo's flight, I just gotta change my schedule so I can see you. Looks like it pays off, huh?"

"Pardon?" he blinked his eyes as he paused. What is he saying? Changing his schedule?

Koutarou looked into his eyes, biting his lower lip before smiling again. "I've been looking for you since the day I got into MSBY Airline. Heck, I think I saw you before in our academy. I was desperate to see you again but I only got your name,"

"You were looking for me?" His breath might stop a little.

"Yes. Isn't it crazy? I've wanted to ask you out since I knew you were here," Koutarou blushes unexpectedly. "We've been on a few flights together before but I wasn't allowed to exit the cockpit. When I got out, you weren't there so I got frustrated. Kuroo, your original captain, called me the night before the flight that you're under his list. It was hard to ask for me to change my schedule to replace Kuroo so I can see you,"

His hand is warm in Keiji's, a little rough but still gentle. With a squeeze, Koutarou exhales a sigh. "It was really hard for me to see you again, as if the universe is against me and you. But I tried. When I didn't see you with other flight attendants, I thought I heard my heartbreak. But little did I know, you walked as beautiful as ever to the point my heart hurts just by seeing you,"

Keiji blinked his eyes. "Bokuto-san, you had a flight after me the night before. Your next schedule is supposed to be two days from today,"

"I know," he smiles, rubbing the knuckle on Keiji's knuckle with his thumbs. "But I wanted to see you. I wanted to ask you out,"

The plane landed safely in Peru on that evening. Thanking all the passengers for flying with them is like a mantra repeatedly being told, smiling towards familiar faces for the last 10 hour. For once in his lifetime, Keiji quickly grabbed his suitcase, checking for any remaining items before waiting in the lobby of the airport. Peru that evening was crowded, but Keiji didn't mind. Because the moment Koutarou walks out, his suit hanging on his hand and his hat is no longer there (possibly inside his suitcase), their hands intertwined together before walking to the same hotel they book together.

Morning arrives and the sound of the waves crashing onto the sand could be heard from the distance. However, the sound of his new lover sleeping beside him is louder. Keiji may be in the astonishing place of the world right now, but with Koutarou by his side, arms wrapped around each other, he feels like he's 50.000 feet above the clouds. Higher than a dream, higher than a fantasy, higher than his expectation. Koutarou is flying higher, and he brought Keiji along the way.

“Good morning, gorgeous,” Koutarou greets him early that morning.

Waking up early in the morning has become a shocking unnatural habit for Keiji ever since his years of training. Different beds and different cities every day seem like an everyday thing for him now, adapting to new culture and environment is like something he would read from a book. However, waking up next to a man you’ve been crushing on for the last couple of years and only to find them pining over you the same as you? Isn’t it such a lovely morning?

“Good morning, Kou,” he smiles. Koutarou presses a kiss on his lips gently.

“When’s your next destination?” He caressed the cheek of Keiji’s tan face.

“I should be going home three days from now,” he pressed a kiss to his forehead. “But I believe you owe me a date to Máncora beach,”

Koutarou laughs, pulling him into his chest with kisses all over his face. “I believe I do,”

THE END.

Notes:

Thank you very much for reading this short-timed story. I have never, I MEAN EVER, written a story for one day only just because I was inspired by @Temari_AM's bokuaka pilot and flight attendant au. I was determined to finish it on the exact same day they posted the art! I am very happy to finish them and I'm happy if you enjoy this as much as I do!
