"So,” Bokuto started. His tone was rather light and casual as he spoke. “I'm down to try this 'love affair' thing you mentioned last night."
"I see," Akaashi was more focused on properly spreading the appropriate amount of butter onto his toast than the implications of Bokuto's words. He spread and spread until everything—Bokuto’s words, their meaning, their implications—collided all at once. "Huh?" The knife dropped onto his plate. The toast followed suit. Akaashi blinked rapidly as he tried to process what Bokuto had just said. "Excuse me?" Came his next words, wrung out and tiny.
But Bokuto continued to smile as if he hadn't just knocked Akaashi straight out of orbit. "You said we should have a love affair. That dating me would make you feel better. And I slept on it, and thought—hey, that sounds fun. So why not?" He gave a casual shrug. "Let's have a love affair, Akaashi Keiji."
in which akaashi keiji is dealing with heartbreak after finding out his ex had a fiance on the side; and bokuto koutarou offers to help akaashi forget all about his ex (it works).

Summary
hinata is stuck babysitting a new transfer (read: kageyama tobio), someone he got along swimmingly well with back in the days (read: not at all). akaashi is collecting arrests like free estate so he doesn’t lose his bet against bokuto. what’s the worst that could happen besides losing and thus going on an actual date with bokuto koutarou?
daichi tries not to pop a vein as he keeps his precinct in check and atsumu’s cackling can be heard almost every other hour. at the same, everyone turns into vultures and the worst incarnations imaginable when they compete for the ‘best detective slash genius’ in their yearly, sacred affair a.k.a the halloween heist.
broken bones or property damage not held liable when the heist takes place. and if anyone wants to press charges for their wounded ego, they’ve got the best defense attorney in the state anyway (read: self-proclaimed by kuroo tetsurou).
