disclaimer: this is a togachako fanfic, and it's canon diverse. Some characters are made out to be the bad guy, and if you don't like that, then don't read, you don't have to complain in the comments.

Notes:

There isn't a lot to say about this, I wrote half of it like 2 months ago and only now finished it after getting randomly inspired. I've never had a job so i took a few (a lot) of liberties and although her job is called "personal assistant" its closer to a maid but i didn't want to call it that. Other than that, i hope you enjoy the first chapter of this story!

Chapter Text

Izuku Midoriya was perfect; he was sweet, charming and rich; anything a person could ask for, she was lucky to be his girlfriend. She'd struggled to pay for college but he helped her pay for it, regardless of how much she insisted he didn't need to.

Ochako and Izuku were in her room, talking and playing video games; the curtains were mostly closed, some of the light peeking through because of the wind. She was anxious about what she was about to tell him, even if she knew nothing bad would happen, even if she knew he loved her, she was still afraid. "Izu... I have to tell you something" the boy paused the video game and looked at her "What is it Ocha? You know you can tell me anything" he reassured her.

"Well... I'm pregnant" the controller in his hand fell to the ground, making an annoying clacking sound, the previously paused game resumed and the timer started ticking again while a happy song played in the background, the opposite of the energy in the room "I'm sorry, you're what?!"

The anxiety she felt doubled "I said I was pregnant" He said nothing as he got up and left the room, leaving her devastated. She picked up the controller and closed the game, practically crying. She was too sad to continue and too surprised by his reaction, nothing like she expected.

That was the last time she saw him.

-

She remembered that day vividly, she was now struggling to survive, it was already hard getting enough money to provide for her parents and to be able to go to college, now she also had to provide for a child!

Izuku had vanished after that day, leaving some money for her to finish paying for her education since it was close to graduation. She graduated and was working various different jobs to try and get enough money to provide for her and her child.

It was one of her rare off days; she was at a local café with her friend, Tsuyu, when she heard of the opportunity. "Do you know about the Toga family?"

"Of course I do! They're like one of the richest families in the country!" That was a pretty stupid question but she was curious where the other was going with the conversation. "I heard that they're in need of a new personal assistant for their daughter, the last one was recently fired" Now that was an opportunity. The Toga family was extremely rich, if she could get a job working for them, especially as a personal assistant, she'd probably be able to provide for her child and her family. She's worked similar jobs before, being a PA probably wouldn't be that hard, she was talented and hardworking, she could do it.

They finished eating and Ochaco left her, going back to her house. She had research to do.

-

She was anxious, today was the day of the interview. Tsuyu had come with her as far as she could go, but now she was alone, walking to the room where she'd be interviewed in. She spent most of her free time researching about the job, what questions would be asked and how to prepare herself. Toga Himiko, the woman she would be working for, wasn't well known. While her siblings were actors, not many knew what she really did.

She arrived at the room and sat down on the chair, it seemed no one was there yet. She listened to some music while she waited. After a while, she saw a woman with bright pink hair and skin come into the room, her eyes were mostly black, with her iris being a striking gold, she looked a bit intimidating. And so, the interview started. The girl was Mina Ashido, their manager. She asked all the questions she'd seen in the many articles about the job, she answered each answer flawlessly, as well as she could, really. She was extremely anxious, but she knew that job was what she needed.

-

She knocked on the door and went in after hearing a soft "come in" from the other side. There was a woman lying down on a sofa, her hair was shiny and blonde, creating a halo around her head, her eyes seemed to be golden in color, barely visible as she was looking uninterested at her phone. "Uh... I'm Ochako Uraraka? I was told to come here to meet up with Toga?" she asked, anxiously. The woman immediately looked up and made eye contact with her before smiling "That would be me" she said, sitting up and gesturing for her to sit in front of her on the chair that was so conveniently there.

"Well, to begin with, I know your job said like 'personal assistant’ but that’s not exactly your job, I didn't really know how to describe it so I just put it as that. To explain it as simply as possible, my parents think i need a babysitter for some dumb reason, like, I'm my own person ya know? I can take care of myself, but to them I need to be taken care of even though I'm the oldest out of my siblings! Like my brother is what? 2 years younger than me? And he's going around being an actor and stuff without needing a ‘babysitter'’" The woman in front of her went on a rant about how she thought she was treated unfairly by her parents, it was odd, almost as if they were friends, she seemed to notice she'd rambled on after a minute of complaining. "Wow, sorry! I didn't realize I was rambling, if I do that feel free to try to interrupt me so I don't go on unnecessary rants" she said after laughing awkwardly. "Well! Getting back on topic, for your job you'd kinda need to like, move in with me? I understand it might be a bit annoying but it's necessary, you'd get paid more for it, too! Do you have, like, any questions about that?" that piqued her interest, if she was able to, she'd love living in a fancy house like hers, but there was still an issue that would need to be talked about.

"Well, I kind of have a kid? I wouldn't really want to leave her with my parents and have her living without seeing me often, so could I bring her as well?" She knew the answer would most likely be no, but she still had hope that she would be able to bring her daughter on this journey.

The moment she mentioned having a kid she saw Toga's eyes practically glow and shimmer out of excitement. "Of course you can! How old is she? What's her name? Do you have pictures of her?" All of a sudden, she was bombarded with questions about her child, it was oddly endearing. "Her name is Mika, she's turning 7 this year" she replied while taking out her phone to find some pictures of her child. "This is her" she showed the other her phone where a picture of a girl with brown hair similar to hers and green eyes smiled with both her hands doing peace signs, she wore a pink black and brown striped sweater with black pants and shoes. "Aw, she's adorable! I can't wait to meet her" a huge smile was on her face as she looked at other pictures of the kid, one cuter than the other.

"Ok so! Let's focus a bit; I'm going to be explaining a bit more about your job! Okay? Okay" She said, answering her own question before explaining what her job was, she'd have a week at most to pack and, in Toga's words "do whatever people do when they're moving away I guess, I don't really know".

"So, do you have any questions?"

"No, I don’t, but thank you, Toga" Ochako said, the other started laughing at her, she tilted her head in confusion as she explained

"Please call me Himiko, or 'Miko, or literally anything else but Toga, I can't handle it" She didn't really understand why but she nodded before saying goodbye to her.

"Bye Ochako-Chan!" Himiko said as she left. Hearing her given name being said by her boss as if they knew each other did something to her, what it did she wasn't sure, but she could feel her already pink cheeks getting slightly warmer.

-

She could barely contain her excitement at the idea of living in one of the Toga mansions, she saw Tsuyu sitting at her usual spot at the café, waiting for her as usual, she was practically skipping at that point as she sat down.

She took one of the cupcakes her friend had already ordered for her, all made of chocolate, one of the specialties of the place. "You won't believe it Tsu! She- I-" Speaking was hard as she basically started screeching at a low volume to not disturb the other frequenters of the café. "Take your time" the other said, chuckling slightly.

"Well, Himiko is super nice! Apparently the job is a bit different from what I expected but I'll get to live with her! Like in her mansion! And I told her I had a child so it would be a bit difficult 'cuz i didn't want to leave her with my parents, you know how they are, but get this, she got so excited! Like she started asking me questions about Mika and it was so adorable? I don't know how to express how happy I am!" the words came out of her mouth quickly, fast enough that people not used to it would have a hard time deciphering what she was saying

Tsuyu laughed at her best friend's antics while taking a bite of her own cupcake, listening to Ochako ramble about Toga, it was kind of tiring listening to her talk so much, especially when she was talking so fondly about someone she had just met, but it was something she admired about the other, she could talk for hours and hours about random things and dumb stories she'd heard or experienced, she'd just go on from topic to topic in the matter of minutes.

"Listen, I get that you're happy about how nice she is but be careful okay? She could be just like Midoriya, you know?" As always, she was the voice of reason, she was blunt and straight-forward. It was refreshing.

"I know! But I feel like she's different, I'll still be careful though, don't worry" The conversation died down as they ate, they talked about other things that had been going on in their lives since the last time they'd seen each other.

-

"I'm home!" Ochako exclaimed as she entered her apartment. Immediately, her daughter ran up to her, hugging and welcoming her back, her parents came out of the kitchen soon after.

She greeted her parents, hugging back Mika before taking out her shoes and jacket as the small girl let go. "So... I found out my job is a bit different from what I imagined, I'm going to have to move into the Toga mansion next week"

"Does that mean you're leaving?" Her daughter asked, a frown on her face.

"Fortunately, she said I can bring you with me." At that, the girl smiled. She looked to her parents "I'm sorry I won't be able to take care of you directly, I'll still send you some of my paycheck every month though!" They didn't really mind that she'd end up leaving, they were happy for her, and she was happy for herself, too.

Along with her happiness, there was a hint of anxiety, not the bad kind where she felt like she couldn't breathe properly, just the kind that came from new opportunities. She couldn't wait for the day she'd be on her way to the mansion, she wondered how big it would be and how things would change, but as long as she had her daughter by her side she would still be happy. The girl seemed excited by the idea of moving away from their apartment, even if they would both miss it.
