I have never once thought that my eyes will be fascinated by anything.
But the way she fights, it managed to catch my attention. It is elegant yet there's no single trace of weakness. Each strike is heavy but every time we fought makes me to look forward to our next fight.
I thought that's the only thing I will pay attention on her....
But I was wrong.
It is her everything.
In the Northland Bank
When handling the fights, the harbinger can do it perfectly. Be it throwing an arrow with his hand or use his dual hydro blades to destroy the gigantic ruin guard, he always find a way to amuse himself during the fight.
However...
"Master Childe, please sign these documents."
"Master Childe, there is a customer who wants to apply for a loan..."
"Master Childe....."
"Master Childe....."
"Master Childe....."
.... when it comes with facing the paperworks and other small issues, the mighty 11th of Fatui Harbinger can't help but feel bored.
It is not like Childe will skip his works and all the responsibilities given to him by her majesty but all he wants is some excitement, some stimulation, some....
... Deadly fights with Lumine...
Having a fight with Lumine will always bring a smile on his face.
The cuts and the glare he received from Lumine is always the best. They makes Childe wants to go all out without thinking anything else.
"Master Childe." The woman who works as the Northland Bank receptionist called with a soft and gentle sound.
"What's wrong, Ekaterina?"
"Miss Lumine has reached Liyue 10 minutes ago." Childe has many underlings under his command but Ekaterina is whole better than others. Although Ekaterina did not possess any outstanding combat ability, her intelligence gathering ability and administration skills are excellent.
"Ekaterina, please help me settle the paper works. I will be leaving. Actually, I think you can tell others to leave early today." Childe immediately stands up and changes into his usual attire after he heard the news.
"But master Childe, I think Miss Lumine is...."
"Thanks Ekaterina. I will treat you some food tomorrow."
Liyue
Every week they will spend some time to fight each other. Although not as intense as during the fight in Golden House, Childe is more than satisfied with the time spent with the blonde girl.
When Lumine won the fight, she will smile brightly as if the bloodlust during the fight is fake. However, when the blonde girl lost the fight, she will pout while lying her back on the ground.
This is like a game for Childe and Lumine and this continued for months.
After the fights, they will usually go for a lunch or dinner and the loser will treat the winner.
Sometimes, they will spend some private time together when the little fairy (?) is nowhere to be seen. Lumine will always laugh when he makes a joke or smile warmly when he told her his family.
Her smile, her laugh and probably all of her other actions are like a blazing light to Childe and these give a strange feeling to Childe which he never experienced before.
"It's been a while since I saw Ojou~ Hope she is doing great and hope she has mood to have a fight with me. Man, the Elemental Burst she casted last time hit me so hard... This time I will find a way to dodge it and win the fight!"
His eyes shone with excitement like a child who is looking forward to get his present in his Birthday or Christmas.
Not long after he left the Northland Bank, he had spotted the blonde girl in white dress sitting on the dock watching the sun falling behind the horizon alone.
Just watching her back is enough to let Childe to know Lumine is having an emotional time right now.
Lonely and sad.
Most importantly, Paimon is not with Lumine too.
The Harbinger walks slowly toward the traveler.
"Hey comrade."
"Hey Childe."
"What'cha doing?" Childe tried to act as usual. Trying to sound casual and playfulness to Lumine in hope to cheer her up somehow.
"Watching sunset."
Apparently, the idea is not good enough to make the girl smiles.
(Well, of course it doesn't work damn Ajax... Come on... Think! You are better than that... What does the girls like when they are not happy? Battle? Killing someone? .... Sounds good to me....)
"......" Lumine stares at the Harbinger who is now lost in his thought while standing.
(.... What does Mr. Zhongli taught me last time again?... How about.... hmm..?)
Childe stopped his thought after his attention was drawn when Lumine taps on the free space beside her to tell him to sit beside her.
They had a long silent after Childe sat down.
But that is okay for them as they enjoy each other's presence.
As the time passed, the sun sink more and more down to the horizon.
The surface of the sea reflect the bloody sky and the glowing sun while the wispy cloud over the sun improvises the scenery even further.
It was beautiful.
But the eyes of the young Harbinger were fixed on the young traveler.
To him, the sunlight is nothing when compared with Lumine's blonde hair.
Smooth and graceful.
Even when the sky is completely turn to black, her hair is glowing and illuminating a light as if the sunlight is still hitting on her hair gently.
But maybe... it is not just her hair that Childe could not take off his eyes away from Lumine.
To him, she is the light.
A light that brings warm to him.
A light that gives Childe happiness.
A light that pierces through his heart.
(Ahh.... So I have....)
They spent another long silent moment together after the sunset until Lumine broke the silent.
"Ae... my brother used to watch sunset with me when we traveled. He loves the sunset because he thinks 'no matter how tiring or chaos during the day, it will eventually come to an end'. I was once laugh at his weird interpretation but now..."
Childe could see some tears coming down from her eyes even though she is trying her best to hold it and her trembling sound.
"... but now I just wish he could tell me again... Tell me that everything will come to an end already and everything is fine now..."
Emotion that accumulated inside her explodes when she said the last word.
Childe could not know what happen during past few days after they said goodbye to each other as they have their own duties to take care of.
Seeing her like this make his heart broken. He wants to do something for her.
If that day he leaves his boring works behind and goes with Lumine, will the outcome be different?
But there are two things he knows certainly.
Firstly, it has to be something related to her brother.
And secondly, there is no 'if'.
"... s-sorry for making you to listen to all of these. I..."
Before she could finish, she was interrupted by Childe who is now embracing her tightly.
The traveler is petite when comparing with Childe's tall and muscular body.
"C-childe? W-what are you doing?"
"Comrade.... you don't have to say sorry to me you know. I-i don't know what happen to your journey since you didn't tell me anything about it yet but..."
Childe looks at his light whose eyes are red after crying. Even when she is crying she is beautiful to Childe too.
"... I will always be there for you, Lumine."
(I will always protect you, my light))
The words give a shade of red on Lumine's cheeks. Unlike his usual playboy speeches, she could feel he truly meant that when he said it.
Slowly, their heads move close to each other. Her soft lips eventually lock with Childe's.
Their first kiss lasts for half a minute.
Even after their lips parted, it is not long for them to kiss each other again with deeper and more passionate kiss.
