It was Cha young’s 3rd visit to the Malta .It has started to feel like a second home to her .Vincenzo had to go for an emergency meeting and she was roaming around to notice the changes that had occurred in the villa in all these years.
Entering Vincenzo’s study she thought of checking her mails. She opened the shelf to take out a pen when her eyes landed on a certain box. It was a small square shaped box. As she was always the curious one she could not stop herself from opening it.
Gasping at the content she waited for Vincenzo to arrive. She needed some answers ASAP.
"You have this with you all these years?"
"Umm… how did you find this?"
"Answer me Vincenzo .Didn’t you told me you would give them back? Saying it’s our moral duty."
"I tried but I failed to find them."
"Vincenzo Cassano who is the Capo of a famous mafia family failed to find someone? Korea’s NIS director is your fan boy and you couldn’t find two common civilians?"

"Question no. 44 Vincenzo why do you have this ring with you?"
"Yaa you can’t pull the 78 questions card."
" I did and you have to answer it . "
"No."
"Yes."
"Okay! Okay! Because for me this is our engagement ring."
"Huh. ?"
"Even though the circumstance was fake, but my feelings were true. When the director asked me to propose I was happy because I knew it could never happen in reality .So it was my only chance to live my dream."
"Then why didn’t you give me this ring in all these years?"
" I don’t know, maybe I was doubtful. You always wear such dainty jewelry and the ring is so chunky I thought you didn’t like it .Then I kept it just for memory’s sake. "
"Darling do you remember the discussion I was having with your mother on jewelries’."
"Off course I do you said you like dainty pieces as it looks better on you, but you prefer slight heavy or chunky ones when it comes to engagement or wedding rings or jewelry .Something like double banded with lots of tiny diamonds in the front . That’s why I was going to exchange the ring I bought for you with biggest ass diamond I can find and propose you as soon as……….."
Vincenzo wanted to smack himself. Not sure whether it was for ruining his own surprise or not understanding the fact that why she particularly mentioned about chunky rings .
Cha young decided to bring him out of his misery holding his hands she said," Vincenzo I did had inkling about your proposal when by chance I heard your mother and you discussing about rings so when she asked me about jewelries I knew it was you who wanted to know otherwise you think I fucking care about diamonds, pearls or emeralds and whatever I did in Ragusang Gallery it was me not Ms. Bening. When you said I do love her without missing a beat I fell in love with you. I wished it was our engagement .I didn’t even wanted to give it back but I felt guilty as it was bought by someone else’s hard earned money.
They both started laughing about how fool they had been .They were each other’s shadow yet didn’t had the courage to reach out .
" Now, let’s just get done with the proposal Mr. Corn Salad shii. "
"Here? Right now? "
"Yes I am here, you are here, we have Ali Osman’s We, Forever .Can’t believe you actually bought it. Although we don’t have violinist’s or photographer but we can manage."
"But I don’t have the ring."
"We have this ring also the other one you bought for me. "
"But that is not according to your liking ."
"That’s okay we have our original ring. Compensate it later with wedding rings. You can buy me biggest ring out there."
Vincenzo Cassano got down on his one knee and proposed Cha young for the second time. Fluttering her fingers he slipped on both the rings . She wiggled the fingers in front of the lights to see how the diamonds twinkle in the scattering of light.
Cha young pouted her lips and grabbed his t -shirt for a kiss when she remembered something ,leaning back she asked, "
You actually never intended to give it back to Mr. Anderson?"
"I wasn’t but I did something else .I got the rings appraised by a jeweler and wired its double amount to Mr. Anderson’s account."
O lord how much more can she love this man. At least she can be guilt free .It is her own ring now.
"Now cha young ah let’s forget Mr. Anderson and Ms. Bening we have to complete the highlight of the proposal and even go further."
Cha young laughed and proceeded to kiss, it was going to be a long night for Mr. and to be Mrs. Cassano.
On the other side of the world a certain Mr. Anderson was looking at a similar black box, it contained a note that came on the day when someone transferred a huge sum of money in his account. He told his bank manager about it but he assured him it’s safe and he knows who send it. He tried to find more about it but he failed .He has read this note several times but still whenever he is in a dilemma or thinks things are not going his way
