Work Text:
Joe didn't understand why Nicky insisted on going to Marseille, especially in light of what had happened in London a couple of weeks prior. To Joe, other things were more important at the moment than this stop.
Joe: "I don't get why, we are here after all the pain, he caused."
Nicky looked at Joe before returning to remove the weed in the gravel. Joe crossed his arms.
Joe: "And I don't get why we are still paying for all of this when he doesn't deserve it."
Nicky looked at Joe again before taking the flowers he had brought with him.
Joe: "You do know that he will never visit them!"
Nicky stood up and looked at the family grave before he placed a hand on the tombstone. After saying a prayer in Latin, Nicky looked at Joe.
Nicky: "They bear no guilt in his actions, Yusuf, and the reason why we're paying for all of this is so they're here when he is ready to visit them one day in the future."
Joe: "I don't think that day will ever come."
Nicky: "That day will come. It might not be today, tomorrow, or this year, but that day will come. I know it."
Nicky looked at the family grave with the last name "Le Livre" one more time before Joe and Nicky drove towards Geneve and the next mission.
