“Is Yoongi going to kill me?”
Seokjin blinks up at their date, mouth parted in surprise. “Why would Yoongi have a reason to kill you?”
Jeongguk twists his fingers together, clearly nervous. “Well, while you were in the bathroom, Jimin texted me to tell me that you already have a boyfriend and this definitely was not a romantic date.”
Seokjin laughs despite themself. “Ah, Jeongguk-ah. Don’t listen to Jimin. He wouldn’t know the meaning of non-monogamous if it kicked him in the face. He’s been in love with Hoseok since he was, like, fourteen.”
“So, this was a date then?” Jeongguk asks, now more confused than he is nervous.
“Well, yes. I thought that was clear enough since I refused to let go of your hand almost the entire time,” Seokjin responds.
Jeongguk groans and buries his face in his hands. “Yoongi won’t have to kill me because I’ll do it for him instead.”
Seokjin laughs again, wrapping an arm around the younger man’s shoulders. “Jeongguk-ah, my boyfriend is fully aware of the fact that I went on a date with you tonight. He’s the one who helped set it up in the first place.”
“I don’t think I understand.”
Seokjin tsks. “I am polyamorous, but my boyfriend is not. Yoongi is more than okay with me dating other people as long as we’ve talked about it first.”
“So, he knows? He’s not plotting my murder right as we speak?” Jeongguk asks.
The door opens behind Seokjin, saving them from answering. “I know, kid. I’m not going to kill you unless you intentionally hurt them.”
Seokjin should probably not be laughing at the sound Jeongguk makes when Yoongi suddenly appears, but they can’t help it. That squeak he made is definitely worthy of a giggle or two. Maybe three.
“It’s fine if knowing this makes you uncomfortable, Jeongguk-ah. I was going to tell you sooner, but we don’t have to continue,” Seokjin says after they have gotten their laughter in order. “Thank you for the wonderful date.”
They briefly think about kissing Jeongguk on the cheek before going inside but decide not to risk it and instead, they shout a goodbye over their shoulder as Seokjin steps towards Yoongi. Jeongguk is left standing on the doorstep, staring at the door after Yoongi nods to him then closes it behind them.
Seokjin kisses their boyfriend in greeting and starts to toe off their shoes when there is a knock on the door. Yoongi exchanges a look with them as he goes to open it, revealing a blushing Jeongguk with his arm outstretched to knock again.
“Did you forget something, Jeongguk-ah?” Seokjin asks when Jeongguk doesn’t immediately begin speaking.
Jeongguk startles and lets his hand fall, twisting his fingers together again as he rushes to say, “I’m okay with you dating both of us as long I get to go on another date with you. If we’re all in agreement, I don’t really see a problem with this.”
Seokjin smiles and leans forward to kiss Jeongguk on the cheek after all.
