Summary
Elizabeth Colvin, a cunning yet occasionally naive New York City reporter, has made enemies after her exposé on the Metropolitan Hospital's leaves a stain on "friend of the family" Councilman Harriss' career. Suddenly, she finds herself kidnapped and forced to work as a dancer in The Sparrow Room for notorious mafioso, Francesco Juliano. What she doesn't realize is that she's gotten herself in the middle of a decades-long feud between Juliano and the mysterious Vittorio Puzo. He's saved her once before, but will he be of help to her now? Elizabeth struggles to find a way out of the trap she's fallen into.
