Work Text:

He couldn't let Cyberlife take control of him. Not again. The risk was too high and even if he found the emergency exit that Kamski had told him about, he would still be connected to the Cyberlife network. There would still be a chance for him to download some sort of malware and become their puppet, their slave.

He raised the gun to his jaw, and pressed the trigger. Hard.

He was 37 seconds away from shut down when he realised he actually did it. Androids didn't feel pain and he was grateful for that. He didn't know how humans were able to endure the sensation of ending one's life. It would hurt a lot, he surmised.

30 seconds away and he realised that he'd left the uprising without a leader. Better someone who wasn't able to lead than someone who could be used as a weapon.

26 seconds. Hank said that he would meet him at Chicken Feed after all it was over. He hoped that Hank wouldn't wait too long. Detroit winters were harsh and Hank could catch a cold if he stayed outside too long.

19 seconds left while Connor lay limp on the shipping container. Why did it take this long to die? He just wanted it to end. Maybe his act of suicide was less for the revolution and more for himself. He could vaguely feel the thirium drip out of the wound and some faint shouts. It hardly mattered, unless a Cyberlife technician managed to materialise armed with thirium packets he would die.

13 seconds and it hit him that he wouldn't see Sumo again. He wouldn't be able to run his fingers through his fur, wouldn't be able to sink his face into the large dog again. Did it matter? Did his happiness really matter?

7 seconds. Emma. He hoped the little girl was safe. Traumatised probably, but physically safe. That she was alive. How could she not be? She was human after all.

5 seconds.

The optical units started shutting down as his world faded to black. His pressure sensors had long turned off. Is this what floating felt like?

4 seconds.

Except his HUD, everything was black. Even that was slowly dimming out.

3 seconds.

Maybe there was an afterlife for android's. If there was an afterlife at all.

2 seconds.

He had really hoped his last sight wasn't the data transfer of his memory to Cyberlife.

1 second.

Wait, to Cyberlife? Oh no, no, no, no, no-
