Liam’s expression softens, as does his tone. “It’s not easy, I know. It’s fucking terrifying. It’s lonely and confusing and full of what if’s. But once you let that fear and shame and doubt go, and fully accept and embrace who you’re. Truly love every part of yourself.” He smiles reassuringly at Theo with a certain wistfulness. “It’s the best feeling in the world. It’s like you can breathe for the first time in what feels like a really long time.”
“I’m glad it worked out for you, Liam, I am. Truly.” He says, his voice weighted with an emotion he guesses was close to envy. “But some of us can’t. Some of us don’t get to have that.”
“Or maybe you won’t let yourself have it,” Liam counters, hitting him with the cold, hard truth.
