Chapter Text

THE BOY IS said to be a musical prodigy. and on a scintillating midnight, he finds himself walking through an empty ballroom, having just completed his first official gig outside of his school. the instrument in his hand is wrapped in a firm grip, his face painted with a solemn look of melancholy as he lets his eyes traverse the intricate interior artwork of the dome above his head and the ballroom; a dazzling piece of fine artwork done with countless little shards of glasses, cradling a large chandelier which lit up the entire room. he loved every piece of detail his eyes could let him observe, and his mind process; after all, it was a dream come true for him to be standing in the place he now stood upon. but enough of digressing, he has to catch the last train back to his dormitories before he is forced to trek all the way to the address, which is a long distance. or maybe he could grab a cab? so many options for him to choose from. blonde locks cover his crystal clear, gleaming aquatic blue eyes, and he runs his fingers through his luscious gold locks, saving his eyes from being irritated by innocent, impotent strands of hair which lay independently on his forehead. his feet start to pick up pace — there's no more time to lose before he loses the train and his free ticket which he received ends up in vain, until a melody stops him dead in his tracks, his feet merely millimetres away from the entrance of the ballroom. the ballroom had two extravagant doors — one for entrance, and one for exit. the aforementioned blonde haired male, named eichi, had decided to leave through the entrance to cut short the distance between him and the train station. but alas, the heavenly melody embraces him tightly, and he is pulled towards the place like gravity pulling your feet to the ground from where the tune has travelled all the way from. someone is playing a violin.

eichi is pacing through the ballroom, and all the way towards the other end of the hallway; his heart beating rapidly as adrenaline fills up his veins, before he is alone, standing in front of the entrance to an open balcony. ah, he must've been dreaming. the one who had been playing the violin, had now reached the first chorus, you could say, of the melody composed by one of eichi's favourite and biggest inspirations of classical music — a piece by italian pianist ludovico einaudi — 'experience'. the male could feel his agape mouth now forming into a crescent smile, excitement bubbling up inside him like a volcano moments away from erupting. eichi dashes out to the balcony, uncovering the instrument he carried in his hand all the while running towards the violinist playing experience, before eichi's hand holds a viola in it's glory. there's a small crowd of passers-by gathered around the violinist, for which the blonde haired male can't quite see their face, but it doesn't matter anymore. he hoped their shared love for the instruments and music, would and will intertwine their souls if they were destined to be so. and maybe, it wasn't just a silly little hope dreamt by a seventeen year old music major standing across another stranger metres away from him. the viola is placed gently on his shoulder, and his left hand firmly grips the strings which are soon to be met with the bow; and almost instantly, a magnificent tune is born.

the tune of the violin and viola reverberate throughout the colossal balcony, and more people are drawn towards the breathtaking melody they cannot force their hearts to withhold and suppress. the little crowd slowly disperses from between the violinist and the violist and moves backwards, to respect the musicians — the artists, playing in front of all of them. the face eichi had so long hoped for to see is now finally revealed: messy blackish-brown hair at shoulder's length, a few rebelling strands resting gently over their forehead, and carmine eyes illuminated by the light of the chandelier, staring back at eichi. and for a moment, eichi could swore he had caught those crimson red eyes smiling back at him before they are closed, and the violinist focuses on the piece with their heart and soul.

tranquility reigns the air once the performance is ended, with the coordination of both of the musicians through the very melody of the violin and viola, and the spectators applaud the beauty that has unfolded in front of their eyes. the spectators are then greeted with a bow, and everyone soon starts their journey which they had halted to experience the beauty which would now remain engraved in their hearts and minds as a wonderful sight they had witnessed solely due to the sheer love the gentlemen felt towards the instruments which they held dear to their hearts, and eichi is left alone with the stranger who had captivated his own heart, mind, soul with the very same tune of the violin. this time, however, eichi is able to witness the shortlasting smile he had seen momentarily in it's full glory; those carmine red eyes forming into a crescent as the lips of the stranger in front of him formed a broad smile of unfeighned delight. for a split second, eichi finds himself lost in those benevolent eyes before he is able to return the gentlest of smile he had been so lucky to have the blessing to receive.

the start of a story, to be written amongst the incandescent stars which twinkled in the stygian night sky before the stars could collide. this was my envisage; and despite knowing that not all dreams come true, i still, continued to dream like a pathetic, idiotic teenager, until all i had left in my hand was a little locket the love of my life had gifted me back when everything was merry. and i, like the fool of a hopeless romantic i am, placed the most favourite picture of my lover i had taken in secret, inside the very locket gifted by him which now rested around my neck — my heart, soul, and breath, forever lost in the mirage of dreams shattered the very day i had gotten to call him mine. to be yours, your present, and your forever — i will wait for you earnestly, always.

yours sincerely, tenshouin eichi.
