TW// HOMOPHOBIA
“Dad please!” Todoroki screamed through sobs. “Don't do this!”
Enji Todoroki, better known as the number one hero, Endeavour, was kicking out his son. Purely because of the fact that he was gay. To him, it felt like the perfect boy he raised to be a strong, powerful hero, was turning into someone weak, and disgusting. He wouldn’t allow it. He wouldn’t let his own son live with him anymore.
“You’re such a disappointment!” Endeavour yelled at his son. “You’re fucking gay!”
“I’m still me!” Shoto choked on a sob.
His eyes were red in puffy and his nose was stuffy. He wiped away the snot and tears, using the sleeve of his hoodie.
“You’re not you!” Enji shouted, slamming his hand into the wall, breaking it. “You’re some fucking loser who likes dick now!”
Shoto didn’t know what else to do other than cry. He didn’t expect this from his father, and none of his siblings were here. He requested to be alone when he told his father, but he didn’t think it would be this bad.
“You just got me back in your life as a son. You want to lose it because of the fact that I like guys?” Shoto questioned.
“Get out of my house,” Enji said strictly, turning away from the boy, stomping over to his desk.
Shoto stood there, frozen in place for a moment. He stared at his father as he ignored his presence.
“Take the money from the jar and bus to school,” Enji said, his eyes not leaving the document he was reading.
“Right,” Shoto mumbled under his breath as he made his way out of his fathers’ office.
His lips quivered, as he stumbled upstairs. He didn’t want to cry again. Crying meant you were weak. Or at least that’s what he was taught growing up.
He was quick to pack, as a lot of his things were already at his dorm. He stuffed in a couple of sweatshirts he had, a few extra pyjamas and hygiene stuff. He wrapped a picture of him and his family into one of his shirts and carefully put it in his bag.
His eyes scanned his bedroom one last time before he headed out.
Thankfully, it wasn’t cold out, so he could walk back to the dorms. He knew it would take time, but he'd rather walk and clear his mind than sit on a train full of people.

Sero was in the common area, scrolling through his phone, not minding what he was doing as he was alone.
Sero tended to stay at the dorms all year round, except for summers, as his family was almost never home. He didn’t mind it though, he enjoyed the few quiet days he would get.
Todoroki walked into the dormitory, noticing Sero on the couch before he continued quietly walking towards the elevator.
He reached his floor, walking into his dorm, carefully setting down his bag and sweater before he made himself comfortable in his bed.
He wasn't one for being emotional, but today he felt like he deserved to be sad and to cry, so that's what he did. He curled up into his pillow, holding it tightly to his chest, knees tucked up as well. He let the tears fall, not worrying about soaking his bedsheets.
He didn’t remember how long he cried for, or how he ended up where he was now, but he was sitting with Sero in the common area, drinking tea, and watching whatever was on TV at the time.
“Heh,” Sero laughed, “sorry for dragging you out of your room. I thought you would like some company.”
“It’s nice actually,” Shoto admitted.
He found himself watching all of Hanta’s movements, mimicking the way he was sitting and the way he was drinking.
“Is there something on my face?” Sero asked, his face flushed as he used a tissue to aggressively wipe his face.
“What?” Todoroki was brought back from his thoughts. “Oh, no, sorry for staring. You’re just really pretty.”
Sero spit out his tea, coughing and trying to catch his breath as he looked at Todoroki.
“Are you, are you being serious?” Hanta asked with a look of surprise plastered on his face.
“Yes,” Shoto said as if it was nothing. “You are really pretty. Nice eyes and a nice facial structure in general.”
Sero blushed, looking away embarrassed. He put his hands up to his cheeks, he could feel the heat reading off of himself.
“I’m sorry,” Shoto apologized, “I never meant to make you uncomfortable.” And he really didn’t. He was just stating a fact and complimenting Sero, but in the process made him uncomfortable.
“You didn’t,” Hanta laughed, shaking his head. Todoroki smiled, he didn’t get to hear Sero’s genuine laugh often, but he liked the sound of it.
“Ok good,” Todoroki joined in on the laughter. “But I meant what I said, you are very pretty.”
“Thanks, Roki,” Hanta blushed and smiled at his friend.
“You hungry?” Shoto asked as he stood up from his spot on the couch.
“Uh,” Sero’s stomach rumbled a bit, “maybe for a snack.”
“Wanna help me make some cookies?” He asked as he started walking towards the kitchen.
“You know how to bake?” Sero asked, bringing his dishes with him as he followed Shoto out to the kitchen.
“My sister taught me,” Shoto said softly, a small smile forming on his face.
Sero followed Todoroki around the kitchen, letting him take the lead. Sero helped with getting some ingredients, and he mixed the batter for a bit, but in the end, it was all Shoto's work.
“Now these need to be in the oven for about 15 minutes.” Shoto sighed as he slid the tray into the oven, turning on the light so he’ll be able to see them.
“Want some hot chocolate?” Sero asked, getting the milk out of the fridge.
“Never had it before,” Shoto shrugged.
“What?!” Sero asked to make sure he heard correctly. “You’ve never had hot chocolate?”
“No,” he shook his head.
“Did you even have a childhood?” Sero grumbled, getting the cups from the cupboard and the hot cocoa powder from the pantry.
“Definitely not a good one,” Shoto chuckled, taking a seat at the kitchen island as he watched Hanta make the drinks.
Sero took a moment to register what Shoto had said before a look of guilt washed over his face. He turned and looked at his dual-haired friend, watching his expressions.
“I’m sorry Sho,” Hanta apologized, “I didn’t mean to hit a sensitive topic.” He said genuinely. He felt bad for bringing up his childhood. He knew it wasn’t great and he felt bad for prodding.
“Don’t worry about it,” Shoto smiled. Sero felt relief wash over him, his friend wasn’t mad.
The two waited in comfortable silence as Shoto kept his eye on the cookies in the oven and as Sero was busy making the hot chocolate.
Shoto observed all of his friends' movements, watching as he stirred in the powder, as he reached for high shelves, as he walked to put things away and as he sprayed whipped cream on top of their drinks.
Bing Bing
Shoto’s attention snapped to the oven and he was quick to jump off his spot from the table and take the cookies from the oven. He placed them on the stove and turned back to look at his tape friend.
“They should cool for a few minutes, then we can enjoy them.” He said.
“Ok cool,” Sero smiled. “Wanna watch a movie or something?”
“Sounds fun,” Shoto said, turning his attention back to the cookies. “Just pick out anything you like.”
“How does ‘Spirited Away’ sound?” Sero asked as he grabbed their cups off the counter.
“Sounds good to me,” Todoroki nodded. “I’ll be right there, just going to plate the cookies.”
“Alright,” Sero said enthusiastically before leaving the kitchen, letting Shoto handle the cookies alone.
Todoroki was quick with the cookies, only putting the nicer-looking ones out for Sero, and grabbing some fruits as well for the two of them to enjoy.
Shoto brought the things over, setting everything down next to Sero and made sure he was comfortable before sitting down next to him on the couch.
Sero started the movie and about halfway through, Shoto had fallen asleep, his head resting on the tape hero’s shoulder.
Sero couldn’t help but smile, he found it cute. How Shoto was sleeping. He wrapped a blanket around him and let him sleep as he finished the movie alone.
