You could already tell it was going to be a perfect day as you woke up in Bakugo’s room, he was facing the wall and you could make out the outlines of his defined muscles as he slowly breathed in and out. You smiled at how peaceful he looked knowing that it would dissipate before breakfast, knowing you had to leave before anyone else woke up you started moving gently in order not to wake your boyfriend. Taking off the covers you cringed as he started stirring next to you, watching as he flopped over and was now facing you, he brought his arm out and grabbed you, pulling you closer to him and back on the bed. You wanted to protest, arguing that everyone would be waking up soon and would see you leaving his room and question why. However, you smiled wanting to live in this moment forever, his classmates knew him as not the affectionate type, but you knew him better, knowing he had his moments of being a romantic. You remembered the first day like it was yesterday, he had accidentally scorched the flowers he had gotten you while saying, “I wasn’t going to be bothered getting you new ones”. You laughed at the cute gesture while still maintaining the mean guy facade, but still loving the flowers anyways.
“Don’t go” he mumbled out with his deep morning voice that made you melt.
He didn’t open his eyes, but you looked back at him anyways, “I have to go, people are starting to wake up”
He sighed a little, “I know, but still”
Nodding, “I know” you said in a sad tone.
He let go of you, “I’ll see you later for breakfast”
“Okay, see you later” You frowned and got up, put on your shoes, opened the door to his dorm room, looked around, and when the coast was clear you booked it to your room.
You knew he would be waking up soon in order to go to breakfast, as you two did every Saturday morning, and then followed it up with a walk to his parents' house. You took a shower and put on clean clothes that consisted of jeans and a simple red top, knowing he would wear the same color to match. It was always the subtle things that made you fall in love with him. Although it was discouraging not being able to be seen with him anywhere while on school grounds he would always do little things that proved he was thinking about you. You’ll always remember the day at school he defended your quirk when a different classmate in another grade had started making fun of it, saying “she’s one of the most skilled in this whole stupid school, especially compared to you” and always giving you extra food during lunch when no one was looking.
Those were always the best memories, others not so great when he refused to meet your parents, but he made up for it by surprising you at the family dinner anyways. Oftentimes confessing he was never the best boyfriend and promising to make up for it falling through, but you always tried never taking it to heart, just telling yourself that's just how he always is, but you knew you were different, it was just different. Leaving your dorm room you locked the door behind you and greeted your fellow classmates that littered the hallways. Making your way downstairs you immediately spotted Bakugou talking with Kirishima, smiling at the fact he was wearing a red shirt like yours. You walked past them, “Gentlemen” you started in a silly tone. Kirishima was the first one to respond, making you turn around before walking out the door.
“Y/N! Good morning, where are you off to?” He asked, smiling at you.
“Just going to see someone” you replied casually glancing at Bakugo.
“Who? A boyfriend!?” Kirishima said in shock which made you giggle.
“Maybe..” you joked with the red-haired boy.
“Either way if he breaks your heart,” He started flexing his arm, “he’ll be in for a world of hurt… right Bakugou?”
Bakugou rolled his eyes, “That’s all you” which made you laugh even harder.
“Anyways, I have to go… See you around” you finished smiling at them, especially at your boyfriend. You turned towards the door and made your way outside, already knowing the directions to the train station to take you to the normal breakfast spot, waiting for your boyfriend to arrive.
After twenty minutes of waiting you finally noticed your boyfriend walking towards you with a mean look on your face, you sighed knowing he was about to blow up about something.
You opened your mouth but before saying anything he spoke, “I know I’m late, don’t say anything, Kirishima wouldn’t shut up about the fact you might be meeting someone somewhere, like he’s in love with you or something. It was starting to piss me off, so I told me I had to leave, and I left”
You ignored the comments he said about Kirishima, “Well that doesn’t matter because I love you, and it’s okay I didn’t mind waiting” you reassured him.
He smiled, “Let’s get on the train,” he guided you towards the opening doors, “I’m starving”
After a pretty silent train ride, you both finally made it to the side of town with the breakfast cafe you two frequented. Smiling as Bakugou opened the door for you and pulled out the chair you sat in every Saturday morning, he moved to sit across from you, he smiled and handed you a menu.
You took a minute, looking over the menu, “I don’t even know why I give you that thing when you order the same thing every time”
“I like looking at the pictures” you stated as he laughed.
“Yeah, I figured you couldn’t read” He laughed.
You scoffed while laughing, knowing he was joking, “Hey! I will leave you here!”
“You wouldn’t dare,” he said with a mischievous smile.
Before you could come up with a retort the waitress was walking towards the table, ready to take your orders. You had ordered the usual and Bakugou teased you for it, saying he always knew what you were going to do, you smiled taking it in a way where he meant that he knew you best.
After finishing breakfast, you both walked hand in hand towards his parents' house, he began seeing them more often just to spend time away from school and with you in private. Private, that word made you cringe, on the first date Bakugou had explained what your relationship would be like. At first, it didn’t bother you, but after seeing so many couples, and even class mates love each other in public, it was heartbreaking and whenever you tried expressing your feelings Bakugou would always explain the same thing to you, that he wasn’t ready and you respected that, but after eight months of dating you always wondered if there was something more to it than that.

Todoroki breathed in the warm air, closing his eyes in content as he waited at the floral stand so he could get his mother's favorite flowers before visiting her. He was happy he could take time out of his day to go visit his mom but still felt guilty that he wasn’t doing things like this sooner other than writing to her, but he knew she was still happy regardless.
He opened his eyes and glanced around at the different people all around him, children with their mom and couples holding hands. He did a double take, noticing that he knew the couple holding hands and that it was someone not too friendly, “Holy shit” he whispered, getting out his phone so he could take a picture, acting like it was one of the tall buildings across the street. He knew it was wrong but it was something so hard to believe. He was debating about texting it to the group chat, but he wanted to talk to you first about it.
“Here are your flowers sir!” A pitched voice said, breaking Todoroki out of concentration.
“Oh! Um, thank you” he finished taking the roses and exchanging them for cash. He made his way to his mother, debating on what to say to you.

You greeted Bakugou’s parents as you both made way upstairs to his room, you suggested watching a movie and to relax after a hard week of training but Bakugou stated he wanted to work out first. He told you to pick out a movie, so while he lifted weights you scrolled mindlessly through every streaming service he owned, trying to find the perfect movie for the both of you.
Bakugou flopped down on the bed, creating a big dent that made you move closer to him, “How about this one?”
The blonde was silent as his eyes moved across the screen, reading the description of the movie you picked out, “No, sounds awful”
“But it's new and I really want to see it, we always watch the ones you pick out” you protested.
“That’s not true, and you always end up liking the ones I pick out,” Bakugou argued, face growing red.
“Maybe you’ll like this one” You defended.
“Not likely, it looks stupid” Your boyfriend stated a matter of factly.
You shoved the remote into his hand, not wanting to argue anymore, “You pick the movie then, I don’t care what we watch” you picked up your phone and aimlessly scrolled through social media until he found a movie. Once he found he slouched down on the pillow and put his arm around you, which forced you to put down the phone and watch the movie even though there was anger still present.
At the end of the movie, which you enjoyed but would never tell Bakugou that, he insisted on cooking dinner for the two of you while his parents were working late. He made your favorite dish with glasses of wine he stole from his parents, wanting to act fancy but not get too intoxicated before having to catch the train back to school.
Taking your last bites of food Bakugou checked the time and suggested you both should get back to school before the trains shut down. You agreed, cleaning your plate off and getting ready to leave, your boyfriend held the front door open for you and you walked out into the cityscape where the sun was setting behind multiple buildings, you noticed how it was still warm too. Bakugou offered you his hand, which you took without hesitation, it was like yours fit perfectly inside his. You joked around and swung your hands back and forth as he tried to keep your hand still with his strength, knowing you could never actually annoy him just made it funnier when messing with him.
You stopped on the sidewalk and looked at him, which made him stop too and turn back to give you a questioning look, “You know, it's times like these where I feel most content, where I’m the happiest and I have nothing to worry about, you do that for me”
Bakugou gave you a blank stare and slightly smiled, you didn’t expect much since he wasn’t the most affectionate type, “I feel the same way, now let’s get going before we are late” You continued walking when he started back down the sidewalk, but your legs felt like jelly and butterflies burst in your stomach. When he said he felt the same as you did, it confirmed every doubt you had, he wasn’t the most affectionate but you knew he loved you and this confirmation had every body part heat up in happiness while the setting sun felt like it rose back up and made the Earth go up in flames. Back at the familiar train station you knew what would happen, you’d leave with Bakugou and when getting closer to the school you would walk ahead so no one would suspect anything since going in together would raise questions.
Getting off the train was probably the easiest part since you were still able to be with your boyfriend, getting closer to school was the hartest, you didn’t want to leave him. Longing to be able to walk in with him and sit on the couch next to him, teaming up with him during training, and having his support throughout the day sounds so much to you than keeping everything private, but you sadly understood. You said your goodbyes and he silently kissed your forehead after a hug you never wanted to end, he broke away and told you to be safe even though it was only a ten-minute walk back. You started towards school and watched as he followed behind slowly, but as you walked faster your boyfriend disappeared into the fading light.
Walking into the recognizable decor of the dormitories you noticed that almost everyone was still awake, before you could go anywhere else Todoroki marched up to which surprised you since he never acted like this around you.
“I need to talk to you,” he started sternly which startled you, “In private”
You nodded slowly, “Sure, we can go to my room”
He nodded back and the taller boy followed you to your room, the trip felt like hours even though your room was only on the third floor, the painful silence in the elevator made you question why Todoroki wanted to talk to you so badly, he wouldn’t even make eye contact, which made your anxiety spike even higher. You slowly got your keys out of your pocket, purposely trying to stall time. A few seconds later you swung the door open with Todoroki closed it softly behind you. Sitting on your bed, he stood, getting his phone out and tapping on the screen, he walked forward and showed you the screen, “Is this you?”
You gasped, dread filling every part of your body, you and Bakugou were so careful not to get caught by any classmates, you didn’t even know Todoroki knew that part of town existed.
“I don’t mean to act creepy, but I had to talk to you about it. Bakugou is well,” he hesitated, “an asshole”
You were speechless, obviously, the person in the photograph was you and Bakugou, there was no reason to deny it, “Please don’t tell anyone… No one is supposed to know” You practically begged him.
“Y/N…” he started empathically, “I don’t care that you are dating him, I just wanted to make sure you were safe, you know how angry he can get”
“It’s not that, he… treats me different” you stated defensively.
“I’m glad, you’re a good person with a good heart… Can I ask you another question if that's okay?” He asked.
You nodded slowly, curious to what he wanted to ask, “I’m not going to tell anyone, but why hide it? Judging by the people here, I don’t think anyone would care”
You laughed sarcastically, “I’ve tried explaining that to him, but he wouldn’t have any of it, he insisted we kept it secret”
“For how long?” He shot back.
“Good question, I don’t know,” You said in a defeated tone.
“I think you should try talking to him again, he’s stubborn, be more assertive,” the two-toned haired boys started for the door, with his hand on the handle he turned back to you, “You deserve better than that” without another word, he twisted the knob and left.
Without another thought you got up and stormed out of your room, swinging the door open and letting it slam shut behind you. Noticing Todoroki walking down the hallway you charged right past him, making him question your name but you were too angry to respond. You came across the room of your boyfriend, banging on the door with your fist you waited until he opened the door.
He slowly opened the door, eyes growing wide when he noticed it was you, but you didn’t care, “We have to talk” you stated firmly. Bakugou looked around to see if anyone else was around to see you walk into his room, he cracked the door open enough for you to squeeze into the room.
“What are you doing here!?” He raised his voice to which you ignored.
“Todoroki knows” you said crossing your arms with raised brows
“Know about what?” Bakugou asked dumbfounded.
“About us!? And guess what? He said he didn’t care, like I keep saying, no one would care!” You raised your voice, your face going red.
He was silent which just made you see actual red, “I believed that you didn’t care what other people thought, if you want me to believe what you said earlier was true then lets go tell everyone right now,” You grabbed his wrist and struggled to get him outside of his room, but thankfully with the strength of your quirk you were able to get him to the common area with most of your classmates lounging about.
It was fairly quiet so you cleared your throat to get everyone's attention, most of the classmates turned their heads towards the both of you two, “Go ahead tell them. Tell them what you told me,” you said, gesturing to Bakugou.
Once you started talking most of your friends started giving you questioning looks, one of them even asking what’s going on. You looked at Bakugou who was glaring daggers at you, eyes glowing red from anger and embarrassment.
He crossed his arms and puffed his chest, “I just said all of that shit because it’s what you wanted to hear”
You tried acting not surprised, but you were growing angry since he wanted to act like a child and embarrass you in front of everyone.
“If you won’t tell them, I will!” You demanded, “Is your pride really that important to hurt the people YOU care about?”
He turned to you, steam basically coming out of his ears, “Yes, it is! That’s why I didn’t want to tell anyone, that type of shit makes me look weak, and I’m anything but,” He moved closer, “weak”.
You scoffed, trying your hardest not to cry in front of everyone, but it felt like it was only you and Bakugou standing there. It broke your heart knowing he was lying to you this entire time, even when you thought he was acting genuine, you knew it was stupid to bring him down here, but you knew him different, it was stupid to think he would’ve actually said something that was affirming your relationship to everyone no matter what they thought. You should’ve known that was it, it was his pride on the line, the most important thing to him, in the end he knew your classmates wouldn’t actually care about your relationship with him, but he just never wanted to be perceived as weak, because apparently, people in love are weak.
Taking a deep breathe you took control of the situation, you looked up at him, “We’re done”
“Does this mean they are single?” Kirishima asked trying to clear the awkward silence with a joke.
Turning to go back to your room, you bolted, not even noticing that Todoroki followed you all the way.
Before you could close the door Todoroki spoke, “Are you okay?”
You turned towards him, wiping tears from your cheeks, “I’m fine, it’s just-”
He grabbed your hand, “You can talk to me,” you were surprised by his sudden gesture. You let him back inside like before and sat on the bed while he sat down next to you.
“I just always thought he was different” You cried.
He placed a hand on your shoulder to which you leaned into for comfort, “But you always knew what he was, why did you think that was a good idea?”
You were glad he was being honest, but it also hurt, “I-I don’t know I just thought-”
Todoroki sighed and let you lean in for a hug, he rubbed your back in comfort while you continued to cry silently, “It was my fault, I’m sorry”
You looked up at him, “It wasn’t your fault, to be honest, this had been bothering me for a while. I should’ve known that he never cared about me”
“It's not that he didn’t care about you, he just cares about his pride a little more, you know he doesn’t like to be seen as weak”
“I just thought-” You repeated again.
“I know, I know” Todoroki said trying to comfort you the best way he could.
You thought he was different, but now you decided you didn’t want to be weak either.
