Fuckin' Perfect

Summary:

"Onee-chan, have you ever been told that you're fuckin' perfect?.."

Notes:

"Fuckin' Perfect" by P!nk inspired me for it.

Work Text:

It was a warm May evening - such of those evenings when you only want to hang out with friends, breathe fresh spring air, enjoy your life to the fullest and don't think about anything. But Sayo Hikawa, Roselia's talented guitarist, was sitting at home despite all the temptations and playing her part of the song on guitar. Roselia was going to have an important live, that's why Sayo was completely dedicated to playing an instrument, forgetting about almost anything. Sayo did it well, but she wasn't satisfied with just this: she needed to play perfectly; without a single mistake, without a single stop, without a single miss. Yukina, leader of the group, demanded this, and so did Hikawa herself. "One more time! That's not enough!" She quickly thought. She was literally going to polish this song to set the audience on fire and to show off everything she got! "Almost done!" Sayo got ready for the final chord when the room's door was opened and she heard a nasty noise.

"Onee-chan!!!" Hina, Sayo's younger twin sister, clinged on her. Hina had spent all day with her friends, so she was missing her sister and happily greeted her. But Sayo wasn't so happy.

"Go away, I'm trying to rehearse!" The eldest sister forcefully pushed away Hina. The latter couldn't stay on her feet and fell down on the floor.

"Onee-chan, you meany..." Hina moaned, rubbing the hurt spots of her body.

"You disturbed me. Do you think it's okay to distract people from important business?" Sayo said this without a single emotion, looking directly into Hina's eyes. The younger sister shivered a bit, because Sayo was looking really threateningly.

"N-no... But I thought you've finished! You have been rehearsaling all day!"

Sayo sighed. "This is an important event. And I'm not like you, I can't do anything perfectly for the first time! I need to work very hard and long. When will you understand this?!" the eldest Hikawa shouted.

"G-got it... OK, rehearse calmly then..." Hina sighed sadly and left the room.

"Finally!" Sayo thought and continued playing. But she couldn't play at all: Sayo was missing notes and playing chords in wrong order.

"What's wrong with me? Is it because of her?.." the eldest Hikawa thought. That moment she heard the guitar sound: Hina decided to play the instrument too. The youngest Hikawa was doing this greatly, like always, because she was a genius who could do anything very easily. Sayo became even more furious.

"Is she doing this for spite?! She knows that I feel bad and wants me to feel even worse?!" She thought fiercely and began playing the song again. But her fingers were unsynchronised because of angry thoughts, and in the end there were just random sounds, not a wholesome melody.

"Fuck this!" Sayo went completely mad and hit the string, which was torn apart.

"Totally bopping! How do you like it, onee-chan?" Hina, shining of happiness, entered the room again. But after she felt Sayo's sizzling sight on herself Hina quickly quited down.

"What happened?.." she whispered.

"Can't you see? I've torn the string because of you!" Sayo shouted. Tears started appearing in her eyes, but Hina didn't notice that.

"That's not a problem! I have some extra strings and I'll bring it to you!"

"I don't need anything from you!!!" Sayo furiously closed the door before surprised Hina. After that Roselia's guitarist fell down on the bed, put her face in the pillow and burst into tears.

"Why, why is it always like this? Why can I never be like her even when I do the best I can? Why do ones get everything in this life, while the others get nothing?! Why is life so cruel? Why???" Sayo was thinking while crying out loud. A few minutes later Sayo couldn't even cry anymore and she was just sobbing, still laying on the bed with her face on the salty because of her tears pillow. Then Sayo heard a small knock on the door. At first she didn't react at all, but when after a short pause this knock repeated, she stood up and opened the door.

"Onee-chan... Here are your strings". Hina said, looking down on the floor.

"T-thank you..." Sayo said, hiding her red teary face of her sister. She began feeling guilty, but the eldest Hikawa didn't know how to apologize to her sister.

For a few minutes sisters were standing quietly, with bowed heads, not knowing what to say to each other. Suddenly Hina broke the silence.

"Onee-chan... If you're so busy right now... Maybe we could go out somewhere after this live?.." The youngest Hikawa looked at her sister with a hope in her eyes. Sayo was still silent. "Or maybe... May I show you how to play this melody? I think it may help you..."

For a moment Sayo clenched her hands in anger, but quickly let bad thoughts go and tried to be objective. To be perfectly honest, she was guilty of her failures, not Hina, even though Sayo always had been trying to convince herself in the opposite. Also she really had something to learn from the younger sister, and if Hina decided to help her, it would be a waste to miss such opportunity.

"So what? You don't want..." Sister's voice distracted Sayo from her thoughts.

"Yes. Let's go. I just need to change the string". The eldest Hikawa said quietly and closed the door again.

"Yahoo!" Hina was happy again when she heard this. "I'll wait you outside, because the weather's so bopping and it's a shame to stay inside!"

"She's always deciding for others..." Sayo mumbled, but a smile appeared on her face. After changing the string and washing her face from tears the guitarist went outside. Hina with her guitar had already been waiting for her.

"So, let's go! Play this melody once again..."

Sisters had been playing for a hour. Sayo was finally able to play the song properly and she was very grateful towards her sister, but she didn't know how to say it.

"Done, I'm tired!" Hina leaned on the bench back.

"I'll play once again". Sayo answered tranquilly.

"But why? You're doing it greatly!" Hina was pretty surprised.

"Do you really think this way?.." Sayo blushed a bit because of this words.

"Of course!" Hina moved closer to her sister and looked directly into her eyes. "Onee-chan, have you ever been told that you're fuckin' perfect?.."

"W-what?!" Sayo jumped up because of suddenness.

"Don't worry. Everything will be alright, I promise you. This live will be totally bopping!" Hina again moved closer and quickly kissed Sayo on the cheek.

"T-thanks..." Sayo blushed instantly. "I'll do my best and give it everything I got". She whispered and leaned over the guitar again.

"Good luck, onee-chan!" The youngest Hikawa stood up and walked home with a cunning smile on her face. "It's getting darker, so don't sit here too long!"

"She's always like that..." Sayo mumbled and began playing again. She noticed that it became a lot easier, and her soul had finally found peace which she was lacking in past few days. Maybe she really needed to ask her sister for help more often?..
