When Phoenix Wright wakes up, the sun is already high in the sky. Some birds are chirping and he can see that a few buds have blossomed.
The radio they left on last night is playing a sweet song from Diana Ross.
Please, don't ever break these chains of love.
You've wrapped around me
'Cause I've been so happy, darling,
Ever since the day you've bound me.
He wants to sit but an arm spread across his chest prevents him from moving an inch.
“ Hahah, talk about being bound! He is literally trapping me there! ” He giggles while caressing the arm on his bust.
A beautiful white gold band shines on the hand resting on his pectorals. It has beautiful intricate patterns, like laces tangling around the jewel. Two small yellow citrines surround a bright blue sapphire.
He smiles even more at the view and turns his head gently, doing his best to not wake the man sleeping beside him. His fingers tangle in the soft silver locks and a groan echoes.
" Phoenix, it tickles… "
The voice is still hoarse from sleeping. Soon, beautiful grey eyes open and stare at him; they are still clouded by slumber.
" Hey there, soon-to-be Mister Miles Wright. "
The other man giggles and gets closer, now fully hugging the brunet. His nose hides into Phoenix's neck and his left leg crawls under the sheet to settle between his lover's.
" Good morning, future Mister Phoenix Edgeworth. "

" Days off are the best… " Miles whispers before closing his eyes again.
" Far from me to spoil your happiness, love, but we have a tough day ahead. Remember, it's our daughter's birthday. " The spiky-haired teases, gently grazing the skin on his lover’s neck with his nails, earning a delightful moan from the other man.
" I know, Phoenix. Contrary to some airhead we have here, I remember things perfectly well. ” Miles says, a tad proud. “ Who do you take me for? You? " He punctuates the end of his speech with a pinch on his man’s stomach.
Phoenix smirks and gently slaps Miles’ back in retaliation.
“ Way to be lovey dovey, dear. ”
They both end up laughing like children, not paying attention to their surroundings, simply enjoying the present moment.
The jazz melody catches Miles’ attention after a few seconds.

The silver-haired smiles and hugs his fiance even tighter. This song from Diana Ross is the perfect theme song for their love story and it makes him quite emotional.
Not that he will ever admit it to Phoenix.
He would never hear the end of it.
“ It’s funny how the song sounds like it was written for us, don’t you think? ” his lover says, catching him by surprise because -once again-, the brunet has voiced what he has thought.
“ Yes, coincidences are rather formidable, won’t you agree? ” he nods while gently replacing himself on-top of his boyfriend’s chest.
" Yeah, I felt that. We've come a long way and now, look at us! " Phoenix has the brightest smile on and gazes lovingly at Miles. " We are engaged . We're gonna be husbands. After years of crushing on you! "
The silver-haired man giggles and moves a bit, now fully laying on his fiance; their chests move simultaneously, their hearts pounding in the same tender rhythm. He starts playing with the black locks falling on his boyfriend's face.
" I still can't get over the fact that it took us so long to confess… "
" Well, many things happened, Phoenix. " Miles says before kissing his forehead. " I was taken to Germany, came back as a prosecutor and earned the title of Demon Prosecutor. Then, you had to defend me before I left for Europe to study- "
" Leaving me here alone and thinking you were dead. " The brunet deadpans and it pulls on Miles' guilty thoughts.
" ... You will never forgive me for that, won't you? "
" Never. " His boyfriend smirks. " Your fault for not talking to me and fleeing like that! " He continues while flicking his forehead.
" Ouch, Phoenix, that hurts. "
" Pfff, drama queen. " He laughs.
And this is all it takes for Miles to pin his soon-to-be husband on the bed with one hand, the other tickling the other mercilessly.
Phoenix laughs, struggles, wriggles under his lover. He kicks his feet on the mattress but Miles holds on tight, giggling like a child.
At some point, the tickle fight is too strong and they end up on the floor, falling from the bed, the sheets messily wrapped around them.
And they burst out laughing. They laugh so much they nearly choke on their own saliva. But they do not care.
They are just happy.
I felt so sure I could resist you.
My mistake was the first time I kissed you.
Now I'm caught in a web of my own making.
The laughter is followed by a sweet kiss. It is not the make-out type. Just a simple, tender and pure kiss.
Their feelings pour in it and it is both not enough and too much.
It lasts long enough for them to be breathless, but it feels too little. So they keep doing it.
Over and over again, not stopping, not even caring about the state they are in.
And they use their breaks in the kisses to shower each other with words of deep love.
" I love you ".
" I love you more . I would not be there without you ".
" I am ready to jump thousands of bridges on fire just to be saved by you once again. ".
" You are completely crazy! "
" Crazy in love with you. "
" For the Lords' sake, darling, do not talk about bridges on fire! I thought you were dead… "
" Feels like shit, right? When you think your crush may be dead… "
" Phoeniiiix, please stop, you know full well I still feel guilty over that! "
" Kiss me and you are apologised. "
" As if I needed this kind of demand to kiss you… "
And it continues.
Kisses, caresses, cuddles and love confessions.
My heart's full of love and it's yours for the taking.

"Well, I think Wright would be better. Trucy is a Wright, after all. I know how important it was for you two to become an official family. I do not want to change all that. And moreover…" Miles smiles before kissing his fiance's cheeks. "I like the sound of Miles Wright. I want to be bound to you forever."
Are these tears on Phoenix's face? You bet they are.
