Notes:

Hello! I’m really nervous to be finally posting this, as I get easily anxious about my writing.

But! I thought I should finally let the intense built up fic idea in my head be posted out for the world to see. This chapter is incredibly short, not going to lie. It’s more of a set up for the rest of the plot. I’m almost just trying to get used to writing for other people to see. Please excuse any minor spelling mistakes, it’s nerves.

Chapter 1: Pixie Dust on a Tour Van

Chapter Text

Ryan had always been fixated onto Disney about as much as he had been into music. From the moment he was able to speak, it was Disney this and Disney that. When he was first getting into music, the songs he learned first were from the movies.

So it was no surprise to Min and Kez that the second they had arrived in Florida, the conversation of Disney was much more active then it had been before. Once they had finished their latest gig in the big city of Orlando, the talk of the parks came into question constantly. It had started when they had entered an off-brand gift shop adorned with Mickey Mouse merchandise in the windows.

“Hey Min?” Ryan had murmured out, pulling a retro looking dress from a circular hanger rack. It almost looked like an arcade carpet, aside from the obvious Mickey embellishments. He had held it up to cover himself with a grin, eyeing at Min for some sort of response.

Min only let out a soft sigh in response, glancing around the very empty store for a moment. He set down the tag he was holding for a button-up, letting it flutter down as his eyes trailed down what Ryan had held in front of him. The way his gaze had softened only made the grin on Ryan’s face grow.

“Cute, huh?” Ryan said a bit louder than he intended to, coughing himself down to a whisper. “Do you think we could convince the cashier it’s for Kez?”

“Kez would never wear something so revealing, and you should know that damn well.” The remark caused them both to let out a chuckle in unison, Min’s gaze wandering over to Ryan’s eyes. “Plus she wouldn’t look half as good as you would in it.”

The small and soft remark Min had given caused his cheeks to flush a slight pinkish color, causing him to lift the dress to cover the bottom half of his face, the top half being partially obscured by the hanger.

The silence between them was warm and comforting, as they just stared between one another. This was very rudely interrupted by their hijab wearing bass player, Kez, setting a hand on each of their shoulders and leaning inbetween them. Her brow was raised slightly as she glanced between the two boys, patting their shoulders before letting her hands drop to her hips.

“Okay, corpses. I get you are like, SUPER into each other, buuuuttttt-“ She glanced away, her shoulder tensing slightly, “I don’t need you two making out in the dusty gift shop. Are we buying that… carpet dress or what?”

Min’s brows furrowed slightly, “Uhm- Kez.”, he began to raise his finger slightly in protest, “Maybe keep your voice down about-“

“Yeah yeah.” Kez cut in, smirking slightly, “I know how you two are about your whole thing.” She raised a hand and waved it between the two, “It’s not like it’s super obvious. Or the 90s already. Loosen up! We’re in Orlando! They’ve got like— a ton of accepting and cool people here.”

Ryan chuckled softly, folding the dress into his arm as his eyes moved between Kez and Min-Gi. “You know what else is also in Orlando? Disney World. It’s literally only like 5 minutes away from this gift shop by car.”

Min and Kez seemed to exchange a glance before looking at Ryan, Kez’ slips pursing in silence as Min gently slid the dress out of Ryan’s grasp. “Let's get you this dress, then, hm?”

“Okay~” Was the only thing that seemed to able escape Ryan’s lips, along with a soft smile.

The subject of Disney World had seemed to drop entirely, almost as immediately and suddenly as it had been started up. Of course, neither Min-Gi or Kez had minded the Disney talk, in fact, Min found it quite endearing. So endearing that he had used his saved up money he had stuffed into an unused sock to purchase tickets for the three. He had told Kez, since he couldn’t hold anything back from her, but it was supposed to be a surprise for Ryan, a gift for him.

All the talk made it hard to keep the secret, but he only had to endure it for a small while longer. It was only a 5 minute drive, just like Ryan had said, until they were to reach the hotel he had booked for their 5 day long stay. Sure, it was expensive, but he would do anything to see Ryan’s smile, or feel his cold fingers intertwine with his to great the perfect temperature between the two.

Min’s grip had tightened onto the wheel as they entered the car, Kez sitting in the passenger seat since she had rushed to it first. That left Ryan in the back, clinging gently onto the driver’s seat, his glance peering over towards his boyfriend.

“Where are we headed, Min? We don’t have any gigs planned for a while.”

“I know. Just sit tight, love. It won’t take too long to get where we’re going.”

With that, Ryan had pushed back, perched up on the middle console that separated the two front seats together. Min had begun to drive along the highway, glancing towards Ryan as they had passed under the first of the Disney themed exit signs. Ryan’s expression of pure childlike joy would be burned into Min-Gi’s memory forever.

“We’re going to Disney World?”
