Work Text:

As Techno rode, Carl’s hooves clicking gently below him, he began to reminisce about the bridges he had burnt. He had killed Tubbo, stacking up a life time of debt to the then 16, now 17 year old. He had mentally tortured his nephew, chasing him with the word “Orphan” sharp on his tounge, as if his brother wasn’t the one to orphan the fox. And the worst, he thought, was the bridges he had burnt with Tommy.

Tommy, the boy with soft Tiffany blue eyes, the boy he had watched grow up into a cold hearted bastard with a sharp blade and even sharper tounge. Tommyinnit, who was once an immovable force, could now only give angry quips as he followed the closest older figure to his undoubtable demise, all the while keeping a broken smile on his uneven, slightly to sad grin. Techno couldn’t help but reminisce about memories with the youngest; his first words, Tommy had smiled at Techno and babbled our the word pig, Techno refused to acknowledge that he had cried that day. Tommy’s first day at school, his baby brother toddling home rambling on about a brunet he had met. Tommy’s first steps, his small baby brother had toddled over to Wilbur while he had a piece of cake; Tommy had stolen that cake. Tommy’s first battle loss and victory, and lastly his… his first breakdown. He could still feel the tears from the young boys panic attack, the scratches from the boys sharp claws that frayed parts of Technos cloak, the cloak that was left unhemmed and left to catch on objects Technoblade had brushed by, Techno could still feel the broken down and sobbing boy in his arms. He… he missed Tommy.

Techno felt the words hit him and felt his heart shatter like glass, and he felt his eyes mist over as tears began to form for the first time in months, since right after Tommy’s ‘betrayal.’

Techno missed the little boy who would stare at him with such admiration, he missed the tiny tot who would would giggle and gush about his brother to his friends for hours at a time, he missed the small chittering boy he had once found under the Christmas tree clutching onto it with his small claws, he missed the chittering nursery of raccoons who would follow the smaller blond everywhere, and he missed fighting side by side with his brother, someone who his brain now remembered had always been (and would always be, Techno said to himself) a part of his drove.

Techno quickly blinked and wiped the tears from his eyes as he shook his head pushing away past memories with his brother, of course he missed Tommy, and Tommy would always be his family, but there was nothing he could do about him missing his brother. He burnt the bridge with Tommy and, sadly, this one was far to burnt to recover.
