“Everything was hazy from the train until Bucky Barnes woke on the floor of a dimly lit cell, his left shoulder in horrific pain and shot through with bright red scars, his head bursting with a migraine, and a left arm made of metal. Bucky raised his head, but something told him he shouldn’t make a sound. As he had in Austria, he tried to catalogue what he knew. His name was Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes. Everyone called him Bucky. He was twenty-seven years old. He was from Brooklyn. His family were back there; his mom, his dad, his little sister. He had fallen from the train. He’d ended up here.”
