The red head had scoffed.
“All of that for the mirage of immortality? You foolish creatures.”
Leaning on his forearms again, the mermaid had tilted his head a little as he had regarded him.
“Ye eat us all the times. Some people bite back, ye know?”
Yunho had let the threatening words slip past his lips, eyes hard as he too had studied the other. Truth to be told, he had been against the plan from the start: eating the flesh of a mermaid to turn the crew immortal? What would they use all that time for? But even he had at some point been greedy enough to throw his own advice overboard, which had then ironically brought him on a rock in the middle of nowhere, getting mocked by none other than a merman of all things. Life really had a way of taking its revenge on people, he would dare argue.
